I definitely would not lose interest. I was just as into Rolex when the cases were full as I am now.

All value is rooted in limitation.

Nope, opposite is true. I would be more interested.
As it stands there are pieces that I want, that I have never had the chance to get, and never will. If pieces were easily available. I would have them.
As it stands, the lack of demand and high resale makes Rolex less appealing overall.

I wouldn't lose interest, and it would be good to be able to go into an AD, be treated like royalty and walk out with a new Rolex.....BUT I don't think you can ignore the fact that the scarcity makes the watches more desirable, we all want what we cannot have. In the ideal world, you should be able to order a Rolex, get an estimated delivery date (give or take a month say) and pay a deposit when you order.....makes sense to me.

I think most would be like, where can I get the watch the cheapest at that point...

Or oh god, MSRP? Who will buy it for that much... or how much discount should I be asking for?

Don't say its not true, that was the general sentiment not so long ago. Say 2016... Cases were full, watches were basically orderable other than the SS Daytona or say GMT BLNR.

About half (or more) the Rolex "collectors" would be gone.
