Platinum DD 40 Comfort

I am considering buying platinum DD 40. Curious about long term comfort from owners. Is it wearable as a daily or does it just get too uncomfortable. I tried on a gold DD 40 and it was substantial but not uncomfortable for the few minutes I had on at the AD.

At first it’ll feel heavy but you then become used to the weight imo.

Weight will be noticeable at first, but becomes a non issue after a little while. Can be comfortable all day IMO. This was my experience at least.

the president bracelet is constructed to grasp your wrist perfectly. you won't feel the weight at all.

A quarter of a kilo?? You'll have to switch it between arms every day so that you don't end up with one arm bigger than the other.

You'll be able to skip arm day at the gym forever, too.

You'll get used to it.

A Skydweller is more than 250grams and its comfy as to wear.

It will feel like night and day if your coming from SS. The first time I tried on a full PM watch I was like WOW.....i love the weight.

Platinum I believe is 11% heavier than gold. The weight of the DD is part of a alure. Precious metals weigh more than stainless steel, but I've never heard from anyone that a DD is uncomfortable. I think you appreciate the weight with that model.

Some folks like the heft of PM watches, part of the wearing experience.

My only word of caution, is that there is no easy way to adjust the bracelet if your wrist is subject to swelling.

Something to think about

Excellent point Brian that gets overlooked often. No micro adjust on the president bracelet.

Not uncomfortable. The weight will be noticeable but in a good way.

Smart move. Take that Rolex! Brian and I aren't buying your Day Dates until you add micro adjustments to the bracelet!

Platinum DD... I've tried one on as well and felt heavy but like others have said you'll likely get used to it. The weight will not stop me from getting one.

The weight of the 40 mm YG DD is fine. I love the feel of the bracelet and the gold actually warms up as you wear it. I have a smaller wrist and adjustment was perfect after removing several links. You can get a 1/2 link if you need and that will solve most fitting issues.

Better get that fitment right. If not, the weight will be too much for sure. I prefer PM on rubber straps for this reason, heavy but not too much. All PM pieces are generally too hefty for me.

Gold feels fine, but IMO, plat is uncomfortable for daily wearing (and I strength train…)

Thanks for all the feedback folks. I would go for gold but that ice blue dial is too nice to pass up. I also like the tone of the platinum. Want to make it my daily, so hoping it works out.

Yeah but you can get a 1.5 link which should solve any fit issues.

Platinum DD 40 Comfort

You WILL get used to the weight and likely appreciate the heft BUT do not forget to take it off at night. If I have a big night and forget to take it off, the next morning my wrist definitely feels it.…the struggle is real

It's amazing all day long. I absolutely love the feeling and have a hard time not wearing it.
