Did rolex ramp up production? Or did i just get a lucky call?

Recently got a call for a silver 36mm fluted jubilee for my lady from AD in bev hills. I originally requested over a year ago, then revisited about a month ago. One month later, got a call. It felt so quick and i still see people saying they are waiting over a year for a datejust. Only spend history is a prior datejust....did i get lucky or are more watches hitting the market? I did not expect this at ALL being a flagship store in beverly hills with only one watch on my spend history. Thoughts appreciated!

You yourself waited over a year, so sounds like quite awhile in any case. Who knows how many and where when it comes to Rolex. It's hard to get meaningful data, our conclusions are ultimately conjecture.

So you think waiting 14 months for one of the easiest Rolexes to get indicates that Rolex is ramping up production???

Don't see the correlation of ramp up and A DJ 36 with silver dial. But hey its a great looking watch, was my first Rolex.

I agree with the above replies. You waited over a year and then comment that others are waiting over a year for theirs. But that is how long you waited. Seems like many are wing 1 year plus for the same watch. Hope she likes it!

Rolex isn't an electronics company ,they don't "ramp up production"

I'm guessing the AD forgotten about you or they thought you are not a serious buyer.. Datejust36 without special dials usually has a wait time of 6 months or less if the AD feels that you are a serious buyer..

So far as speculating on DJ production numbers goes, pick a number, any number you like between 1 and 1,000,000. It will be neither accurate nor wrong, because nobody knows. If you go really low or really high there is a higher probability that you guessed wrong, but no one knows.

I was offered a BLNR after a wait of about two minutes. What does that say about BLNR production levels?

If you paid attention there are question marks after those comments. OP is simply asking.

Congrats OP, as for your questions, who knows anymore. Using logic to figure these things out went out the window long time ago. Just enjoy the watch.

A preowned watch dealer in Paris (Olivine Prestige) thinks Rolex is currently making 1.3m and will produce 2 million by the end of 2023 or 2024. He doesn't say where he got this from though. So, take it with a grain of salt.

Haha exactly. People totally lost the plot - someone was calling himself lucky after waiting 6 months for a 31mm.

No one here knows whether or not Rolex has/can/will/whatever ramp up production. We have no idea the true capabilities of Rolex and their factories. They could be at 100% or could be at 50%. No one here knows.

Not so easy to get a 36mm DJ. We ordered one for my wife last July and it just came in yesterday. We turned it down cause it was too big and weren’t crazy about dark blue dial.

More interestingly and yes file under AD Said but my SA and her manager said that Rolex won’t allow them to order any watch until their back orders are cleared out which currently stand at 87 watches. Once the backlog is cleared they can order watches that are not deemed allocation pieces. Also even more interestingly is that Rolex is putting orderable watches into delivery categories such as 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks anything over 16 weeks is not orderable no matter what allocated or not. So my SA had a deposit from customer for a rose gold DD he’s been waiting 9 months for and now since I guess Rolex doesn’t see this getting produced in the next 16 weeks or less, Rolex cancelled the order!! No grandfathering consideration given even though order was placed prior to new rule. Also customer asked if he would keep his spot and Rolex said NO.

I found that pretty amazing, you wait 9 months for watch that was not on allocation and the order gets canceled due to new rule and you lose your spot.

Curious if anyone else heard this?
