Here's his story..........

Up for your bidding consideration-An odd and unusual object!! It's a vintage Rolex watch in a lucite cube. It's been in my family for the last 59 years (1950). It has been looked at by a few "WATCH PROFESSIONALS", and was deemed an "EARLY ROLEX AUTO WINDER MOVEMENT".

This particular piece was sent to the Brooklyn Naval Yard, for military consideration of the watch that winds itself, since time military operations were launched by syncronizing the watches, there it sat on a Colonel's desk until 1950, where it became our posession. A relative that worked at the yard received this piece as a gift upon the Colonel's retirement. Probably pre-production. We did a lot of research on this piece, the researchers stated that to the rarity of the item, they could not place an exact value upon the item. Of the people that viewed this item, one was Rolex on 5th Ave. New York. We found the serial number-64434-which dates it between 1935 to 1939, it's hard to photograph, but can be seen clearly.

It measures 2 1/2 inches on all sides, it's a perfect square, lucite does have scratches, and a small chip where the hole for the stand is located. We researched cleaning the Lucite, it can be buffed and repaired, very minor effort. Contact for me with any questions. Please scroll down for all pictures. I was hoping the price would stabilize around $250, and thought I could steal it for $300 or so. When it kept climbing I bailed, it got too rich for my blood.
