Explorer I - 39mm
Interested in a 39mm Explorer, but have 7.5-7.75” wrist. Worried about the size with a larger wrist Can’t seem to find it anywhere to try it on…any larger wrists out there with the Explorer I?? Pictures would be great. Love the simplicity and how under the radar it is!

39mm is a good size for most wrist sizes. I love my Explorer I 39mm, and I wouldn’t go for the 36mm. My wrist is 6.75”.

It wears big. If you worry it will look small on your wrist it probably won’t.

I don’t know. I have 6.75 in wrist and it looks perfect on mine, but any smaller I wouldn’t like it. If you can try one on used somewhere locally, that’s your best bet.

Will fit you perfect. The dial makes the watch wear larger than its dimensions would have you expect.

Many of us have that watch and consider it the most comfortable and someone recently called it a 'collection killer", meaning a favorite.
I'd agree.. It gets the most wrist time, at least these days!

I have 8” wrists and absolutely love my 39mm Explorer. The dial size really makes a difference and it seems much larger on the wrist than other 39mm watches I have.

In my opinion it wears best on a larger 7"+ wrist. It does wear ok on my small 6.25 " wrist because of the moderate lug to lug but I would prefer the 36 mm version to be honest. But for you the size is perfect.

it wears big on my 7" wrist. The dial and crystal looks really large for the oyster case.

Explorer I - 39mm
If you really want one, it will look good on you, no doubt.
My wrist size is between 7.25 and 7.5”. To keep it simple, I usually just say 7.25”. When I tried one on a couple years back, it definitely wore smaller than my Submariner 114060, which I consider the perfect fit for me. However, I’d say the 39mm Exp looked great on me. I didn’t get it because I already had a Submariner, and decided to get a Speedmaster instead. |

I have a 7.0 inch wrist and the Explorer 39 is plenty big enough for me. It’s the biggest wearing 39mm watch I’ve ever tried on.

7.25”, +/-, it fits perfectly. I’ve had the 114060 and 124060 and they wore too heavy and tall in comparison. Confession: I’m an impulsive seller, I get bored with a watch after a week, usually. The Explorer is one of the only watches I’ve kept beyond a year, and I have no plans of parting with it.

It's all a matter of personal taste, but I have a similar sized wrist and a 36mm Rolex fits me better than a 39mm Rolex.

It definitely wears bigger than a 39mm diver with bezel. Own the 214270 and a BB58 and the Explorer wears a lot larger.

It’s absolutely perfect and is the one that gets by far the most wrist time in my modest collection.

It wears surprisingly large due to dial proportions. Will look absolutely fine.

First time posting on this forum, and this group is incredibly helpful and positive…much appreciated. You all sold me on the Exp! Look forward to posting again when it gets here!
