Well give it a go!!! Do the three miles a day that you were doing and then increase your mileage by 10% each week. Before you know it you will be in better shape, feel good and have increased your mileage and time exercising!!!

I would spend a considerable amount of money in staying one step ahead of my wife.
I would also, as someone else earlier in this thread said, acquire a vintage Milgauss with the black dial and plain bezel. That's the only watch I would buy. I would take guitar lessons form Eric Clapton until I nail the first solo from "Crossroads" I would hire half a dozen thugs and a limo and buy a video camera. I would then tour places of former employment and film said thugs beating the crap out of sundry former bosses, colleagues, customers and in particular one obnoxious security guard of my acquaintance I would go into an Aston Martin dealership unshaven, dressed in my scruffiest clothes and ask for a discount for cash. I think that after that I would spend what remained of my life redefining the words 'hedonistic' and 'sybaritic' Incidentally, I notice that this week's Euromillions lottery jackpot is going to be about GBP 110 million (call that 150 million USD). That would get me off to a good start..... Rob

I would buy 20 rolexes, a patek, a vc, a A. Lange, an audemars piguet, a panerai, ......
Probably 2 or 3 million in watches for myself and a million for watches for my friends. I honestly don't know what I would do with the rest. Maybe a good car or something. |

I'd buy the Rado Company and relocate it opposite JJ's place.

This is an idea I entertain very often. Because there isn't such a grand prize in our lottery or state lottery I will set it at 27 million Euro. An insane amount of money
A Dutch magazine once ran a series of 7 articles about lottery winners. All but one of them came from a blue-collar background and all but one of them squandered all their money within a few years. Some were even worse off then before the winnings! I will do a number of things. I WILL make use of the services of the financial advisor that always comes with the grand prize. The Dutch State Lottery provides this service to protect prize winners from opportunists, scammers and to protect them against themselves. But it is voluntary. We will buy an apartment in the city centre and the advisor may say if it is better to pay cash or to take a mortgage. (We can deduct the interest on the mortgage from our income tax). I will pay off all my debts I will give a set amount of money to a number of my relatives. Same to the Queen Wilhelmina Cancer Fund. I will quit my job after my 3 months notice, making sure I tied all loose ends. I will employ an interior designer and contractor to turn our new apartment into the one we always dreamt of. Kitchen by Bulthaup I will start to buy art. Not just for the investment but because we like it and now will be able to acquire some nice pieces I will seek advise how to invest a part of the capital wisely. We will take a several months time-out to set things straight and ponder over the rest of our lives I will buy two new cars. Think one sensible and one dream car. But the 'sensible' one might well be a Range Rover HSE Sport with all the bells and whistles I will send a number of you guys a first class plane ticket and hotel voucher to come over and visit us. We will all gather on our roof garden and I will give you all a green leatherette box with a certain content....

If I were to win a lottery of that size, I would:
1. Put 40% of the win into various fixed deposit accounts in terms of 1,2,5,10 years. They are to ensure I won't just "use" them. 2. Put 40% of the win into a blind trust fund investing in indexed funds, bonds and real estate funds. The benefictories would be all my family, 50% earnings will be reinvested and the rest distributed. The above 2 measures should ensure I would have "play" money as well as sufficient ongoing income. The rest - 1. pay off my debt - not much anyways 2. maybe get a better car and a better house for the family. 3. take my long service leave and have a 3 months round the world trip. 4. buy a DRSD, red sub, Comex, PN, milsub, 6542 (Pan Am white dial), 6062, one each thanks very much. BTW I won't quit the job. Frag it. I'll just enjoy myself there. Too much free time is dangerous when you got money. Just dreaming! |

The wife does not trust me with our own money. I have no credit cards, checks for the checking accounts, or any idea where our money is invested. Seems, I have the habit of giving everything away after drinking a few beers. Guess you could say I am on a short financial leash. I have another hobby and when I went into the store, the owner told me he needed to call the wife first before I could buy anything. He was not kidding. |

I forgot to ad that I will start my own business. I will start a brick-and-mortar store that imports and sells the very best replica vintage flight jackets and gear. Just because I like it and if I make a buck out of it this would be nice. But I'm sure I'll be my own best customer

I just had this conversation the other night with my mom....... To let reality set in, I think I would just do absolutely nothing for the first week. Let the ether wear off a bit so I can operate with a clear head and then chart my course. I would treat myself to the typical spoils, but would then invest the rest and make some charitable contributions. Then carry out life living smart with a smile on my face every single day!

I'd pay off my $18K mortgage then hire a good financial adviser.
