How Rolex does things, sudden or little by little

Hello all, have a question for everyone I just picked up a new to me 16610. I have a question. Ive been looking at some of the details on the watch like the Rehaut, cyclops, and almost had a damn heart attack. I didnt know this, from the videos on YT they will have you thinking your sub mariner is fake if it has a blue reflection on the cyclops and if your rehaut is engraved vs laser etched. I know that since the 11610 have come out certian details have changed like the rehaut being laser etched vs engraved. My question is does Rolex make these changes suddenly or is it a phasing out kind of thing. Is it possible to have an engraved rehaut but have chromalight lume? In 2008 is when chromalight came out but its not uncommon to find 2008 with Superluminova displays. Did Rolex overlap production on 16610 and 11610s in 2008?

Rolex has always used up old stock, even in newer versions of standard models. You will find overlap in most cosmetics as well.

Thank you, after I posted this I did see on Bobs that there is a sub with chromalight but has an engraved rehaut. It would be cool if the youtubers put a note in their vids saying that what Im showing here doesnt mean the watch is a counterfit.

I have found that it is a rare youtuber who knows much at all about what they are pushing out into the net-o-sphere. All they really want are clicks

Heck it's possible to have a "T" marked dial but actually with Luminova. So called "Tritinova" dials. Rolex definitely uses up the old stock.

Little by little, Rolex slowly turns their models into icons.

But then, when they discontinue an icon it’s like a 9.0 seismic event.

Congrats on your new (to you) Sub.

Or they increase case size (or bracelet width) by 1mm and everyone craps a brick! (Or better yet, they publish a +1mm case increase but don't change anything! )
