what is a good pam submersible?

im not too familiar with submersibles

but i am interested in 47 mm. im not so interested in titanium

pam243 (SS but is this vintage already?)
pam305 (ok but not too fond of titanium)

what are the other references out there?

The 389/1389 are both very cool watches. I go back and forth on which I like better. I have owned the 305 and liked it but moved it along.

Get a brand new PAM01305 with an 8 year warranty. The cost difference between new and used is not much.

I’ve had both the 243 and 305. 243 was awesome, until I wore it for a few hours then the thickness and weight were a bit too much for me. The 305 is more comfortable and I did love it. In the end I have settled with the 979 submersible in carbotech that is ideal. Extremely light and comfortable for its size.

I plan to use this for beach and diving watch but I don’t think their built tough as Rolex or omega. Rolex is just pretty much bling right now

Agree with this. 243 is great, 44mm. There's also the updated versions of the 389 and 305, 1389 and 1305. Slightly different lug profiles and movement updates with blue on the second hands. They are 47mm models.

47mm non titanium will be quite heavy I imagine. I have the 1312 which is 44mm and SS, love it but it’s heavy.
Just got the 1209 and while I was hesitant about the 42mm being too small, I have finally settled that it is a great size and is my daily watch.

Other options:
44mm - 24,25,1024

47mm - 1305

Any Bronzo is 1st place for me, but it’s in the next level price range and I’m honestly not sure why as bronze isn’t a precious metal. Either way I love them and cannot wait to own one. Just not fair to include here based on $$

I’m just bringing up the points. I haven’t seen panerai being used more roughly compared to omega or Rolex. Sand might get into the lever lock and difficult to clean.

Titanium scratches really easily. Rolex seems more jewelry these days.

Nonsense. My 968 Bronzo has seen more sand and saltwater than you can imagine. As well as my 111, 372 and the departed 692 BMG with nary a problem from the elements. I’m sure I’ve had some others in the water/sand as well.

Have to disagree here. I have not been gentle with my Panerai’s and never had a problem. I actually think they are one of the tougher automatic watches out there.

Just buy a G-Shock or Sunto if you're THAT worried about Sand

The only reason Rolex (or any other luxury watch) "feels like Jewelry right now" is because that's how you have chosen to view it.
Buying a multiple thousand dollar watch for an outdoor activity, but at the same time being afraid to scratch it is a contradiction you need to reconcile

Buy a beater to beat up and and a Luxury watch to wear out if that's how you want to look at it
Alternatively, you can look at your luxury tool watch as a tool watch and treat it accordingly

Love my carbotech but whenever I look in the mirror from a distance it looks like I'm wearing a garmin or any other large black smart watch. That said when I look down at it on my wrist in good lighting it really puts a smile on my face. Whereas my BMG tech looks more like a big mechanical dive watch from any distance.

I travel all over with my carbotech because it really flies under the radar which is great. Whereas if you want a little more flash and wrist presence I'd go with stainless or titanium.

1389, 1305.... Both great daily wear pieces....but they're Titanium! That's what makes them great daily wear pieces, though. Not sure why you would exclude Ti?

The 692 is beautiful, but BMG has a reputation of cracking for some.

Wanted to love this watch being a big Submersible fan but just struggled to fall for it, it’s light, it’s robust, it should be the perfect watch for me but was just missing something, maybe the all black was just a bit too understated for me, found myself far more attracted to the SS in person. If I was going for a Submersible now I’d be looking at a slightly older model on the used market personally.
