When you get that number you can see the difference between MSRP with Tax and the Trusted Seller number. I have a tendency to move on watches that are within a few thousand, 2-5k, of the MSRP number. I am not made of money nor do I like paying more than necessary but I also do not like AD games and waiting without a firm date of arrival. I also tend to just go on with it once I buy a watch and do not really think about the price I paid. Good luck and let us know what you decide.
Very well put.

Either you already have a full Rolex collection, or this is you

Pretty sure Brian has had access to the grapevine for a long while now. Even when those same grapes that are viewed so highly we’re simply laying on the ground. He and many of the early members (including you) have long savored the taste of those grapes and should be mildly amused at how those grapes are perceived today.

Definitely wait. I see greys with the same stock for quite some time, and newer stock with lowering prices. Their asking price is still inflated and if it does sell, it's most likely below asking price. Just my two cents and observations.

It hasn’t stabilized. Prices are going down and buyers still aren’t responding. Still a ways down to go IMO. Rate hikes and summer holidays are around the corner which should soften demand even more.

If no urgency you can wait to see if the market cools off by next coming months, but if buying for an event whose date is close, then go gray.

Yeah if I'd had a crystal ball I would have been more intentional about filling out my collection

its only when the tide goes out that you see who has been swimming naked

this hasn't even begun, depending on fed activity the tide may stay out for a while longer, but it will be coming in soon enough

I'm sure there's lots of people just sitting on cash looking to see where the market is going that'll deflate the market more. That's what I'm doing anyway.

You could probably go for one if you found one in good condition without losing much sleep. And if you want to keep and wear it then I suppose the market value doesn’t really matter much.

Exactly
Id focus on finding the right example ( condition, complete set) vs hoping prices will come down

I would not sleep on any 5 digit or discontinued 6 digit watch. Those will not go down imho.

Went to the mall yesterday and visited a local ad. Was surprised to see a number of watches in the display cases! Intrigued, I made a bee line to the counter and every single watch was a “for display only”. Ended up speaking with the manager of the store and got to try on some watches. I had not had the chance to try on a sky dweller and the watch is massive but fits very nicely on my wrist. My wife and I expressed an interest in the usual grail pieces and he expressed some doubt about that happening anytime soon but took our information down.

What was really interesting was there were about 5 people who came in while we were there also wanting to buy. Even more surprising was how rude and demanding people were to the staff when they were told they couldn’t guarantee a piece. I doubt many or any of them will be getting “the call”.

To me this put this whole bubble thing in perspective. Yes grey prices are down, but in my small corner of the world ad demand is extremely high and economic conditions will have to change significantly to crush the demand.

If you’re looking at a 14060 the prices have been pretty stable. I wouldn’t be concerned about buying one of those now if you can find a good one around 10k.

My experience in Singapore is different from yours. Visited some shops in The Bencoolen and one of them sold 2 discontinued daytonas on one afternoon. There has been some correction and nothing close to a crash. Definitely quieter for sure and decrease in price for hyped watches. Many are waiting on the sidelines for the right time to pick up.

I think that is going down further, and personally would wait.
