Does my clasp crown look real or fake?

I have a SS Daytona with a 78490 bracelet and clasp. Production Date: PJ6, which puts it in June 2008. I always thought that the crown on my clasp does not look as well-defined as some other clasps that I have seen in pictures.

Here are two pictures of my clasp. For comparison, I am also including two pictures of two different original clasps that were sold right here on TRF. I think that my crown does not look as sharp as TRF Clasp #1, but does look a little similar to TRF Clasp #2. Are these all true variations in the quality and sharpness of Rolex crowns on clasps, or is it just a good photo versus a bad one?

I would be interested to hear opinions about whether my clasp is real or fake.

- TRF Clasp #1 shows a very well-defined crown, with deep gaps between the spikes. it looks almost like the crown is a separate object placed on top of the clasp.

- TRF Clasp #2 (and my clasp as well) look like the crown is made of half-melted chocolate, with a "puddle" of raised metal surrounding it. Am I imagining this?

Polishing can do this

Yeah, I think they are right. Polishing is probably responsible for the differences you are seeing. Put The Loupe Away and Enjoy Your Watch!

Another polish and that crown will look like melted ice cream on that clasp.

Other than that its OEM and kosher.

Polished by someone inexperienced or polished multiple times. If it snips and snaps tightly it’s genuine, but can’t tell without it in hand.

Don’t underestimate angles playing a factor in these photos. They can make a polished crown look more or less defined.
