I'm in a similar boat, but mine is the newer BB with the in-house movement. The watch just died. I could wind it, move the hands and there were no strange noises. In fact, it had been keeping great time--within two seconds per day. RSC Dallas has had it for the last three weeks, and is replacing the movement.

This seems to be SOP for the in house movements. My guess is that it is a R&D issue. They want the movements to see what went wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Resurrecting this thread to note that my recently purchased pre-owned ETA-driven Black Bay Blue is exhibiting the same behavior; when I hand wind it I can feel the rotor turning to the extent that I can feel and see the watch shudder as I turn the crown. Bought it from an AD a month ago with one year warranty so not worried but a little disappointed. I also have an ETA driven Pelagos that does not behave this way. Ironically I probably read this thread five years ago and didn’t think anything of it because my Pelagos was running fine. TRF is a remarkable archive and resource.
P.S.: I found this old thread among others on other forums through a Google search about the winding issue. In my experience Google is the best way to search TRF for obscure topics. |
