I am just curious as to why so many people take offense at my question. It's a forum and the question is legit. I thought this is the purpose of having a forum. Maybe admin should state the few questions that people are allowed to ask without offending others.

Ultimately, buying the watch and entering into this hobby is a personal choice. So I am not sure why one person has to decide that the other person should not be in this hobby for any other reason other than the same one he has?

Other than that, I really enjoyed the various response I get from the name that we gave to these watches.

Don't take offence, we're just a sensitive bunch haha. But the reason is that we don't like Flippers. We think they are the reason we can't get the watch we want. So when anyone ask about watch as an investment or even about retained value, as is your case, people's red flags goes up. I'm similar to your thinking, I want to buy a watch to enjoy, but given such a large sum of money, if push comes to shove, I want to know I can liquidate it to pay rent so to speak.
