A lot of alcohol is involved. Bar hoppin with lots of country music, drinkin and dancing.
It sounds like you're listening to Jimmy Buffett songs, in the Florida Keys it's Conky Tonkin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ay_N7-mAfY This is it's origins.....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honky-tonk

Spend some in Nashville and you will find out in a hurry!
PS my favorite Honky Tonk is Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge.

So, you know when you are in a noisy country bar full of locals guzzling alcohol? And then enters a neatly dressed newcomer who admits he's from New York City, and a cowpoke yells, "get the rope!" That there is a honky-tonk.

It’s like a Kalsarikännit. Only you’re at a bar instead of at your home and country music is playing really loud.

A honky tonk is a country bar. A honky tonk badonkadonk is an entirely different animal and if you’re curious just listen to this song https://youtu.be/EjpJCYfgyvc

This might be considered a honky-tonk, perhaps somewhat exaggerated.
