Oh my goodness, I'm very sorry to hear about all of this, Phillip. My condolences, and you're so right about that life advice. Reading / hearing stories like these are truly eye opening and I'm glad you decided to share.

From the bottom of my heart I’m so sorry to hear of your losses. Death is as tough as it gets. I had a military buddy that really struggled after he retired after 20 years. He was really unhappy and just couldn’t adjust to be a civilian. He had left me a message one evening and sounded depressed. Instead of calling him back i pit it off a couple of days bc of how “busy” i am. Then i get a call from his ex-wife that he committed suicide. It was heart breaking. Again i sympathize and mourn with you. Thanks for sharing your story.

Just read this Phillip, very sad.
Life can smack you in the face sometimes, when you least expect it too, which makes it more of a blow, somehow.
Chin up my friend, tomorrow's a sunny day, and fairly sure your lost friends would want you to remember them fondly, look up and carry on, support their dependants as best you can, and make the most of every day.

Kind regards and sincere condolences,
Steve.
