some guy just tried to sell me this watch

he said it was a gifty from his ex..did he not know who I am??
I felt offended that someone would think they could sneak this by me..
I replied.."look buddy, your ex got you good..because that watch there is as fake as this e-mail"..
wiseguy was trying me...lol

No wonder she's his ex...if my wife gave me crap like that, I'd divorce her too!

Sorry Steve that someone tries to take advantage of you!
It may seems like a dumb question but I try to learn more about the GMT II, have one myself original with paperwork etc from 1995, but can somebody point out to me the 8 fake signs

thanks Oliver

I'll start the list:
1 - Crown is wrong
2 - the hands are in the wrong order
3 - crown guard wrong
4 - lugs are wrong
5 - date magnification is wrong.

magnification is the quickest give-away.

Very true, but Oliver did ask for 8, I just started the list. I could come up with 3 more, but I don't feel quite as comfortable with the other possible tells.

Given the blurriness of the photos it's hard to tell, but here are 3 more:
6. The SELs are too big and protrude too far both high and long.
7. The bezel numbers look like they are pushed too far out from the middle (too close to the outer edge).
8. The 4th hand arrow is too small.

That is speculation. We don't know for sure.

11. The tired old, "I got this from someone and I don't know much about Rolexes" hogwash that accompanies the attempted ripoff.
12. The here's-damning-proof-of-Nessie-and-Bigfoot's-love-child-taken-during-a-major-earthquake-type photo.

Damn fools have no shame.
