panerai power reserve
im thinking of getting one, ive got a budget of aprox UKŁ3000/US$5000, and like the look of the steel bracelet, i have heard that it is too heavey and quite uncomfortable...
has anyone got any advice on: -where to get one in the florida(im in orlando soon) -how much it is -is the bracelet too heavy(i have had a corum bubble with a steel bracelet[i was young ]and that was ok) cheers |

I have had a 221 which is the Ti/SS combo. It was not at all too heavy. In fact it was very comfortable and I loved it on the wrist.
As for an AD you can go to panerai.com they have a list of all their AD's on the site. If you are interested, they also have all the models listed on their site too. I can email you a source for a price list too if you are looking. But for $5K you would be looking at a 40mm version if you want a bracelet. If you want a strap version which is part of why I love my Pannies you can get most models for that range. I would suggest an 88, if you want the bracelet it is about 1K more but you can get a 161, that is one sweet watch. Best of luck in your hunt.

i think i will go with the leather strap then- i agree it is more 'panerai-ey' and only fancied the bracelet as i had not seen them as much.
one more question and i promise i will leave you in peace should i go for the black or brown strap? do you get 2 straps with it? is it posible to buy straps bracelets after youve purcheased the watch? cheers |

Based on the info above plus I'm looking for panny + date plus leather strap + US5K max ..What would you suggest? For just a hair over 5K. you can get an 88, the GMT model. To me that is the nicest dial of any contemporary model that they make.

I love the PR feature on any watch. It's kinda interesting to know how much "juice" is still left in your watch!
Some day, hopefully, Rolex comes up with a model which incorporates the PR feature!!

I currently have a 112H. I am thinking about getting a power reserve, perhaps the 44mm PAM 90 the new 40mm PAM 241. Can't decide. Not sure if the hobnail dial on the 241 is for me. The 90 maybe be a better choice in the long run. I really have no preference between 40mm or 44mm.
