Rolex AD confessions

For those who asked: When the other SA told me back then that my name wasn’t on my list I thought that maybe there was a mistake. So after double checking she said she couldn’t see my name. I told her the date of purchase which was the same day the other SA promised to put my name down. Nothing. I asked if she could check with the other SA and put it in again if needed and she suggested we’d try to call the other SA. He told her he doesn’t remember and regardless the list is currently closed so can’t do anything about it. I was disappointed but tbh considering the popularity of the model when it released I didn’t think having my name would guarantee getting it anyways. So I let it be.

I’m not mad about not being on the list or being lied to, I’m not mad about the couple cutting the line or the way I was treated when I was denied going into the store. I was just truly disappointed of how everything was done by the same SA. I don’t think I can explain it better, it’s the attitude and the rude manner which I felt was done on purpose on each of my visits. When you get the same crappy experience from the same person over and over again you understand it’s just the way they operate and not just an unfortunate- one time incident. It doesn’t matter if You’re a client with purchase history or someone who walks in that store for the first time. People and especially trained staff at a place like that should treat others with minimum respect and curtsey. As I said, this has nothing to do with Rolex as a brand and I still enjoy the watches I got from them in the past while traveling around.

Your first paragraph certainly clears up any questions I had. Thank you. Perhaps you could have asked to speak to the manager rather than leaving two sales assistants to try to sort things out between them. Not a criticism of you as everything is easy with hindsight.

I certainly think at this point an e mail to the manager of the store clearly highlighting what happened may well be your best option now.

Hope you get the watch you are looking for one way or the other

They don’t want, or need your business. Sad, but true.

What would people do if there were no more AD’s to go and cuddle up with?

Rolex AD confessions

Just a little update. So I’ve posted on this thread my terrible experience with that Rolex SA that took place about 2 weeks ago.

Got a call today from someone nicer:

Now I feel a bit better, although I’m still a Rolex reject

Why are they limiting customers in the store? Is this still a Covid protocol there?

Nope. Just suits them better not to have more than 2-4 people in the store at the same time

Post on your thread in the AP section. AP calls are the best! Although I’m very very happy with my Rolex AD.

LOL, are you sure that you were in the UK and not in the US?

Some answers that come to mind are:

I'm here to see your momma.
I've come to buy a watch, moron.
Can I use your bathroom?
Hey man, spare change?
I heard that the biggest a-hole in retail worked here, and I wanted to meet him.

That last one….. oh, man!

OP, you came out on top with that 50th AP purchase. Congrats!

I would not plan to visit that Rolex AD again. Bunch of tossers if they allow someone to work there and speak that way to customers. I would tell the manager and offer the manager a chance to apologize.

You got the last laugh. Cheers.

Disgusting attitude... Things like this shouldn't fly anymore, we've all had enough. Now, no offense, I get it if you're someone who looks like is just going in the boutique for the banter or to make some YouTube video or TikTok (and even then you could argue that it's still perhaps not okay), but not only are you being talked to in a rude manner, you're told top come back later and then they let someone else inside.. I don't know what their deal is as of lately, things are pretty similar in my country as well. You'll walk into a boutique dressed nicely and everything and you're being treated as total rubbish

I don't know what is worse, treating you poorly before you enter the door (or in your case, not even let you in) or treat you nicely in the store, but never sell you a Rolex even after waiting years and spending money on a couple of other watches (Tudor and Omega).

I once was treated like this by Mercedes’ dealer maybe 30years ago as I went to buy a car.
Since then I’ve lost count of the amount of Audi and bmw I’ve purchased. But never even looked at Merc since.

I feel similar toward Rolex now
