I’ve been fortunate enough to acquire all the pieces I was after over the past 2 1/2 years so for the first time I’m considering consolidating a few to pick up something different. I’ve been interested in several independents but am finding it difficult to acquire. It’s also difficult because I have a hard fast rule of seeing it on my wrist before committing…

I have a Czapek coming in in 2023, but that was this year's purchase, so that doesn't really count.

I am trying to focus on Patek or another ALS. The Patek would either be a 5205 or 5235 annual calendar, or a 5524 Travel Time.

The ALS would be a Timezone 1 in WG or Grand Lange 1 in WG or Platinum.

Then I will check myself into debtor's prison.

Hoping Grand Seiko comes out with a red dial watch. They seem to have so many colors available but not that.

My wife makes me give up the LM Perpetual EVO allocation so she will agree to getting this piece. She said I was forcing her to get the Flying-T...

My wife finally had a chance to try on the Flying T IRL here in Singapore and she loves it. I got to try on the Sequential and loves it even more now. Cannot wait for it’s arrival in 2H 2023.

If anyone wants to try on a lot of watches, Singapore will be the place. Many brands with display model to try out and the staff at every location are wonderful.

He is just a very lucky guy in 2023 for getting a FPJ BL Lune and a special Inverse. ::

I hope his luck will extend to 2024 and get an even more special piece ;-)

My next special piece should be a Krayon anywhere. My favorite one.

What I know is coming soon: JLC Polaris (green), a Ming I ordered last summer will arrive in the spring

What I hope is coming in '23: Polar Explorer II (seems to be a popular one on this thread) and an AP ROO

Same here! I got rid of the ones I never wore, and put money aside for either other watches I have been looking for that are coming down in price , or saving for the rainy days :)

Current pricing makes that 5170g tempting. European Watch Co. in Boston had a lovely example for well under 50k usd a couple months back and I almost went for it.

I’ve reached a point where I am happy with my current collection and am not looking to add anything in 2023. If one of my trusty ADs calls with one of the impossible to get items on my list, I would buy a 5167a, 5712, or a SS Daytona. Additionally, if I find the right preowned 5107, I might bite.

But in 2023, my focus is on enjoying what I have.

Want list:

Two tone GMT 116713LN
Or
Two tone SD 126603

Santos, white dial

Don’t know what it is about the steel/ yellow gold/ black dial look that does it for me, but those 2 are very high on the priority list.

Need to update my list since after the last post some "good" news happened:

FPJ Tourbillon Vertical
MB&F Flying T x Emmanuel Tarpin
MB&F Sequential
Patek 5740
Lange Little One Moonphase with Aventurine dial (I have had a blue dial Lange for 20+ years and my wife has been looking for a matching watch for 20+ years and it seem like this is finally happening this year)
VC 222
FPJ Elegante with 2 rows of daimonds (2nd Elegante for my wife )

Still crossing my fingers really hard for one special Kari Voutilainen

And I am definitely taking a break for 2024 after 2023
