It all depends on why you bought each of them. Do you just have an addiction or do you buy them for certain events? If it's an addiction.. Keep the 3-4 that brings you the most joy and you wear. The 4 you mentioned are great! Personally I would keep 2 GMT's, just because they are cool as hell. The no date sub (wears with anything) or your explorer. The rest trade for a Daytona that you love. (every collection needs a Daytona if you can get one) and go get that new Plat DD40. and save the $$ left over for a new impulse Rolex buy in 2023 :) IF you buy them to celebrate an event and money is no issue, keep them all and pass them on to family/friends when the time comes. You'll get amazing joy from gifting them to the right person and so will they. I always give my older non-loved/non-worn watches away. I'm not at the point to have 12+ Rolexes. But you are, just share the hobby and love with friends and family. And have fun!

I'd get rid of 6 of your black dials...keep 3. That gets you down to 7 from 13.

The three I would keep are the JC, Exp2, and BLNR.

Here’s the question…..what would you do with the money you would free up ?
If you don’t need the money or have any special plans, then keep the watches.

Why……because in the future you might wish you didn’t sell.

If it was me and I needed or felt better generating funds; I’d part with the DSSD, Milgauss, TT Skydweller, and one of the GMT IIs. NOT the BLRO!

I might consider parting with one of the Subs or the Daydate as a last resort. Why? I think those are more easily replaced if you had a change of heart.

But what do I know, I parted with a CHNR and a Hulk because I got bored!

I’d keep only one diver, one gmt and one sky dweller.

I'd keep Daytona and either Sky-dweller or BLRO, sell the rest. Daytona for casual use, Sky-dweller/BLRO traveling, and your platinum DD for dress/casual.

Consolidation of that many rolexes would be a no brainer for me. Nice collection.

I would only keep the 4 you wear the most and then sell the rest.

You have a lot of GMT overlap. I would start there. From there, I would keep the ExII, ND Sub, YG DD, Blue Sky D, Pepsi and move the rest.

How many do you want to trim? That's a tough call. I'd start with the TT Skydweller, Milguas, YG DD looks like a 36.

Those were 3 of my of recommendations. I would also add the sub TT, black dial explorer and Sea-dweller. Rough math that is about 90k right there.

I'd keep:
- your favorite GMT for travel - for me BLRO
- favorite diver - for me JC, as long as size is ok for you.
- favorite dressy piece (skydwelles, day-dates or daytona) - for me Daytona
- Polar EXPII if you really like it and want a white dial - I'd keep

Current watches I see myself wear the most:

- BLRO
- BLNR
- EXPII Polar (my latest)
- JC

In the end I’ll do what I do, but I’m interested which pieces my experienced peers here would take out in my situation and why.

If you feel I shouldn’t ask a bunch of strangers in a forum, feel free not to answer.
I’ve seen some members that have been through expansion and consolidation of their collections and really would like to hear their experiences, regrets and suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Would suggest to move the TT and YG pieces towards the PT DD40

Wow. Very nice OP.

Ask yourself why you’re consolidating. If you don’t really need the funds reallocated elsewhere, I’d be a little worried you’ll regret some of the selling (as you hear others do all the time) and you’ll be back looking to add in no time.

With that said, if I were you and I was dead set on cutting the collection down drastically (for whatever reason that may be), I would only keep the 4 pieces you wear now and simply add the PT DD.

I’d keep the BLRO, 114060, and 116509. Trade the rest for your Platinum DD for a well rounded collection.

1 GMT
1 Sub
1 Daytona Silver Dial
1 DD Blue Dial

Id probably dump the 3 two tone models you own like the SD, Sub, and GMT.

I would find out the values of the watches currently in your collection and find the watch I wanted from a reputable dealer and determine what I need to part with in order to make it happen. Then the least worn watches would move along. The Daytona, Blue Sky-Dweller, YG DD and a few others would probably not move out unless I needed the value. Good luck and let us know what you decide.
