went to tourneau to check out an oris
checked out the oris williams team f1 day date today at tourneau. I was very impressed by the watch as it looked way better in person that it did in the pictures. the dealer quoted me a price of $1000. what do you guys think of this watch? also, what do you think of the price. i am strongly considering buying it.
thanks |

anybody? please help me out guys, I would much rather take advice from people who post on this site than the person at the store trying to sell me the watch.
thanks! |

it helps if you post a picture of the watch in question:) as for price, i'm pretty sure you can do better than what you were offered at a tourneau. they are notorious for not giving reasonable discounts.

Or is it this one? http://www.messinajewelers.com/oris-...5mb-p-532.html
Basically, just doing a basic search you can do better than the prices at Tourneau.

$1000 is too much. There are many sources for deeply discounted Orises (or, would it be 'Ori'?), especially the F1 editions.

You can get that piece for $600-$700. Look around and you'll find something. It is a good looking watch.

thank you all for the advice. I was looking and found a good price for the model I want on amazon.com. Has anyone else had experience buying their watch from amazon?

No but they have good buyer protection for anything you buy on their site.

I've seen Oris in Macy's. They usually have good sales.

I had one a few years back, an F1, ran fast and I ended up selling it... I wore my sub all the time and having a brand new watch running 35-40 sec fast per day was a bit of a turn off...

The price is high. You can do better.
I am a fan of Oris aesthetically; however, if pinpoint accuracy is an issue, I would move on to another brand. But, overall IMHO, Oris is a solid value for the buck. |

I'd stay away from Tourneau--they don't use lube, so it really hurts.
