Who has a Mido watch?

I've become interested in owning a Mido Commander.
Work becomes so hectic, I literally get the days confused [odd schedule doesn't help].
One of these NOS models [picture borrowed from justintime, Texas] recently went for about $200.
What say ye? Will a twenty-year old watch, never serviced, give decent performance?

Mido watches are fine timepieces, and that Commander looks nice - clearly inspired by a DD, of course. My dad's Mido from 1961 is still going strong, though it has been serviced a few times. Mido is what got me interested in mechanical watches, and I remain very fond of the brand, though they are quite rare here in the USA.

Insofar as performance, it MAY run fine for a while, but using any watch that hasn't been serviced in 20 years can be risky, and end up causing damage to the movement.

TOO inspired by a DD - I hate homage watches.... As to its longevity, not sure, truthfully.

Mido

I owned one temporarily. Went to get it serviced and found that the back doesn't screw off. So I was told that it would have to be sent back to the factory.

Since my local watch maker couldn't service it I sent it back.
