Purchasing first Rolex, Looking for advice
Hi,
I am looking to purchase 16613 to celebrate career milestone in life, after weeks of research I narrowed down my choice to 2 watches based on price, condition, location close to me and generation. I am looking for the advice which one to pick (price is the same) based on watch condition, potential longevity and resale value. Watch 1: 2008 M series with engraved rehaut. Looks to me as a bit too much patina, but condition is good. Watch 2: 2003 non-engraved with more aged dial. More shiny (maybe different light) but has more defects on dial and bezel. What would you, Rolex experts, chose as your daily Rolex for years to come among these two? Thanks in advance! |

I would choose the one that is in better condition regardless of age.

+1 (better overall condition including all factors, from bracelet to case, dial, bezel, etc.

If price is not a huge factor, this one should be available with not too long of a wait.

Choose the one that’s in the best condition overall, send to Rolex for service, get a new warranty, watch will look fantastic ! As far as longevity and resale value….
With proper care, it will last a lifetime….VERY few watches are a good “investment” these days unless you consider making a few hundred $$ or a couple grand on a flip, a “good” investment. Holding value…yes, your Rolex will do it better than most. |

Of the two, as they are, the 2003.
Otherwise 2008 + RSC service, which is my recommendation.

Would need better pictures of 2008. Is it private seller or why are they so bad?
