Nice Chronomat B13047, appears to be genuine. Have you removed the bracelet at the six o'clock position to see the date of manufacture inscribed upon the case? You should see a few numerals: the first two numbers indicate the week of manufacture and the second two digits indicate the year of manufacture. The links below might help you.

If I recall correctly, Breitling started putting the date codes on the case around year 2000. Nice watch, hope it's running well and hope you enjoy it!

If your watch was produced in the 90's, that would explain the absence of a date stamp.

Oh right that’s interesting, thank you. How can I tell what year it is?
Thanks

From what I see on Chrono24, it appears your watch might have been produced in 1990. Only way to know for certain is to provide the serial number to Breitling to get an official answer. Enjoy it, NICE WATCH!

This one was produced in 90s and it’s 100% original. Nice watch. Enjoy

Search Chrono24.com for similar models to get a ballpark idea. We don’t do valuations here.

Great watch, enjoy it!

It’s a Chronomat, and an important watch in Breitling history.

When the original Breitling closed down in 1978, Ernest Schneider (who purchased the name) initially struggled to find movements for his new Breitlings.

The Chronomat was designed around the ETA 7750 movement (hence it’s sub dials are a different layout to the classic Breitling). The movements were “off the shelf” so perhaps not as finely finished as some earlier (or later) watches, but in an era when many makers were producing very slab sided pieces, Breitling were going against the trend by producing this very curvy case!

Personally, I love the design. I like the case, the unique shaped crown and pushers, the domed case back, and I don’t even mind the bezel tabs! Chronomat’s look good on straps or “Navitimer” bracelets (which yours is) or the “Rouleaux” bracelet which will always be associated with this watch.

Are you planning to keep or sell?

Personally, I’d get it back to Breitling, get it overhauled, get that beautiful bracelet repaired, and keep it!
