They turn down a client who expressed interest all the time. You can turn down a watch you expressed interest in but no longer want.

How this specific AD will react to your turning down the watch is unknown. I would hope they do not care and appreciate your candor. But you may go to back of a line as you fear.

I turned down two watches, a Sea Dweller and a DateJust, while waiting for my first Rolex. The AD was completely fine with it. If anything, I think it made them feel better about selling me a SS Sub for my first ever Rolex as they knew I wasn't just a flipper trying to get my hands on anything I could.

Turn it down if you don’t want it….the yachty is basically the same on the grey now as retail…maybe a 1-2k more.

Don’t buy it if you don’t want it. Let someone enjoy it who really wants it. I turned down a watch last month from an AD that I didn’t ask for. If I bought it, I’d be waiting longer than what I already am for what I want.

Welcome to the forum and tell the AD you’re saving your money for a watch you really want!

I turned down a bluesy because I bought one on the grey market. I told them that although I appreciate the offer, I’m going to continue holding out hope for the Pepsi (my grail Rolex). Three (3) days later, they called to offer me the Pepsi.

Maybe if WWIII strikes off, but otherwise I'm not so sure. Even at a million watches a year the worldwide demand from the large number of upper middle class and outright rich people that globalization has created is tremendous.

Enjoy the watch you have now, and don’t stress about passing on a watch that you don’t really want now. You’re not passing on a super rare watch.
