The only GMT I really like is the Pepsi. Saw the Rootbeer at the AD, it's not my cup of tea, not a huge fan of the coppery rose gold and half brown bezel. On that basis it would be a pass for me. However, if you're happy with any GMT, then yes, go for it.

Being that you have the LV, it's a yes for me. Great combo!

I wouldn't sacrifice to add unless I was already considering selling them. I have pieces on the chopping block for months before taking action, just to make sure it's the right decision for me.

The fact that you feel the need to ask for opinions on this potential trade is your sign. By my lights trading two watches that you know you like for one you’re not sure you like and then to lose money to do it sounds like folly. Take a deep breath and re-focus.

The RB isn’t a very casual watch imo, and for that reason I wouldn’t do it.

I’d find a way to add the watch rather than trade away the two you have … UNLESS you are absolutely certain you don’t want them any longer.

Offered…
Don’t get yourself into a financial pinch is my humble advice. Mind-blowing, right? Haha. Here’s my litmus test: Can I keep the watch if I suddenly become unemployed for 6 months? I was offered Charlie Brown (the nickname given to my CHNR by my 4yo) last week about a year sooner than I anticipated. I was planning to unload a couple pieces to make room in the collection, but was hoping to do so later in the year or next year after we exit the current economic conditions. I ultimately decided to take my AD up on the offer now and will hold onto my “extra” pieces until the economy picks back up primarily because I: 1) wanted to enjoy CB now, 2) don’t know when (not if) I will get the call if I pass it up now, 3) fortunately have the extra cash to make the purchase without impacting the personal/family finances, and 4) would like to limit my losses on the other pieces (although I don’t mind taking a small loss to actually wear the pieces I truly enjoy - our tastes change).
Good luck with your decision!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
