Stolen - Rolex Daytona S/N E32G6614 - Model 116520
Daytona S/N E32G6614, Model 116520 78590 White. We were driving home from The Bay Area CA to Minden, NV, on 3/18/2023. Stopped by Tesla Super Charger in Dublin, CA, charging Model X approx 11:30 am. Walked into Target for 20 min. Stopped by In - N - Out for a quick "pit" stop and a coke ~ 11:45 am. The watch was in a gray day pack with clothes, has a name card, Chris Noe. Please keep an eye out for the watch.

Sounds like a break-in… if so, did you have sentry mode on?
Hopefully something can be done about it - did you file a police report already??? |

We are not sure how they opened the door(s) and picked that bag. We had backpacks with Mac books, iPads, passports, and other bags in the car. We always had our antennas up in the Bay Area but didn't realize it happened that quickly!

Hi perf0rmance, no sentry mode :-( We think it happened at the Super Charger in Dublin bc we went into Target for ~ 20 min. We contacted Dublin when got home in NV but was told to file with the local law enforcement agency. We will have our son, who works for Milpitas PD to file with MPD. Ironically, he warned us not to leave any bags in the open when in the Bay Area :-((

Is there a concern with Teslas being opened without keys like some Kia’s and Hyundai’s? That really sucks…

Sorry for your loss. I would hate to get my 16520 stolen. Hopefully it was insured.
We have had Tesla now for 3 years now. Great security and with sentry mode it would have alert the owner by phone if door was opened. It would also have recorded video from cameras. Wonder why you would leave all those valuables in car? Maybe rental or loaner? Maybe happened before Super Charger? I know at our Super Charger, Tesla Owners look out for each other. And they are "super" busy these days. M |

A friend of ours had his valuables covered by insurance when his truck was stolen. Granted it wasn’t a Rolex, but he had over $9000 of tools and fishing gear. |

Hope you have insurance on the Daytona and sucks to hear. For everyone else who likes to travel with their watches: take one and wear it and leave the rest at home.

NoraNVu, sorry to hear of your circumstances. Thanks for posting the serial number and other details, hope they get them. Usually, they don't as California does not have a good track record recently in catching thieves. We all know California has out-of-control theft and sadly you left your vehicle unattended. Even with vehicles that are attended / guarded, you can still be a victim of crime in California.
CALIFORNIA WARNING: A recent CNN reporter had their car damaged when burglars tried to rob the luggage inside. They were in front of San Francisco Town Hall too, you'd think that'd be safe but it is not! They even had someone 'guarding' the car and everything in front of Town Hall, yet the thieves tried stealing.... https://twitter.com/KyungLahCNN/stat...31119801987072

I don't understand how all those guys drive expensive cars with plates on it and they rarely get caught? All stolen? I remember a robbery in a Mercedes CL AMG, someone in an E-coupe or similar in NYC who drove into another car, all those Dodge Chargers, ... and then recently people stealing cats from an exhaust with a Lamborghini Urus. |

Sorry to hear about this.
I do a drive from the Bay Area to LA quite often and I try really hard never to make any pit stops in the actual metro areas of either. Not with a bunch of luggage in our SUV. We try to make all our pit stops in the middle of nowhere Central CA. I figure criminals would have to be extra brazen to steal and then take off when they have to drive for hours just to get anywhere. Not 100% foolproof, but it's what we do now. I do imagine this maybe harder for EV drivers though? |

Was it in the Front Trunk?
Source:https://electrek.co/2017/02/09/tesla...n-without-key/ There is a hidden release to open the frunk. It's located in the front bumper for Model X and behind the front wheel for Model S. It's only a “security flaw”, as some people are claiming, if owners don't know not to keep valuables in the frunk, but it's something that Tesla warns not to do. |
