DeepSea Seadweller…with or with a service card?

I’m looking at 2 of these. Both are complete. One is from 2008 and the other 2010. The 2008 has a Rolex service card from 2018. The 2010 does not. The 2010 is $1000 more than the the serviced 2008. What would you do?

Same condition?

Theoretically, Rolex considered both "perfect" in 2010. One from the factory. One serviced.

So I'll take the 2008 and the $1k.

I only purchased one pre-owned watch. Not knowing the service history means not knowing the current water resistance state, lubrication state, authenticity of the watch. So I sent it to the authorized service center for a full service. This also gave me a two year warranty. It added $1,000 to the cost of the watch. I took this into consideration when I bought the watch.

The watch is now like new and authenticated and under warranty.

All other things being equal (same model, condition, etc.), I'd get the one that was serviced in 2018. That one should be slightly more expensive than the other, regardless of which one was produced in 2008 vs. 2010. The fact that the 2010 model is more expensive and (presumably) hasn't been serviced in the last 5 years makes it easy.

If condition is equal than don’t care about the service card, only the original card matters.
You can get a service card (laminated flimsy folded paper) any time, the original is only issued once.

2008 with Rolex service card, whenever I have the choice I always pick the watch with a recent Rolex service even if paying a small premium for it

I’d go for the one with the most recent service.

Condition being equal I would save the 1k and go with that watch. The savings should cover the service or be close when it needs to go.

Thanks for all of the input. I was leaning towards the 2008 also.
