Is this something you are looking forward to? And realistically, could this even happen? Last year was the 45th anniversary of the 222, not a really special occasion if you ask me, but still.
And what would the price even be? The 222 in gold is 20k more than a 37mm gold Royal Oak. So a steel 222 would be around 30k maybe?

Nice to play around with this idea
I like the 222 but love the look and price point of the Day-Date OysterQuartz more.
I would prefer a 37 to 38mm rebirth of the DD OQ with an automatic movement.

Yeah, I'm not surprised.

Hearing from my AD that a white gold version is more likely than steel...

From a business standpoint I think it would be better to wait until sales of YG wane before introducing other varieties. I'm hearing multi-year waiting lists as it stands, so might make more sense in a couple years instead. Or perhaps WG would be better alternative, keeping up price and exclusivity

I am very curious to see if an SS model will be introduced tomorrow. There were no teasers yet...

Man, I would love a stainless steel version. What an amazing watch that would be. My guess is that if they do introduce a new 222, it’ll be white gold as previously mentioned.

The steel is 100% coming
Will it be at watches and wonders - that I doubt - I’d expect it later in the year but we will know tomorrow (and I’m in Geneva soooooo I’ll let you know)

My source says it is coming in WW2023. Hope my source is right because I have declined the invitation to be on the list for the yellow gold 222 twice so far. The watch in current gold color is just too vintage for my taste. SS on the other hand I am in.

I guess I'm wrong. There is no stainless steel 222 this year.

According to my AD, SS 222 unlikely any time soon. There's is just no reason for it. There's a long waiting list for the Gold 222 and they just cannot increase the overall production due to lack of experienced employees on the market. So why should they sell a 30k or 40k watch when they can sell a 70k.

Also, there will be another round of price hikes across the board soon.

I might be one of the few people who actually does not like the 222, regardless of the metal.
