I've had the 16710 for over a decade and it is a beast that I've taken on hikes, swimming, etc. I could do the same with the 126710, but I won't - it's just too pretty and I have other watches for that.

Pictures truly don't do it justice; you'll just have to see both for yourself to understand the difference.

I know a Tudor isn't Rolex but I think this is the primary reason they've had so much success. They're essentially a 5 digit Rolex made to modern standards. When I see your picture it reminds me of all the times I've had my Rolex and Tudor GMT's side by side. So similar yet different.

I've taken my Tudor swimming in the ocean, worn it in the gym and on long distance motorcycle tours. These are all activities the Rolex could handle no problem but just as you mentioned I'd rather use my Black Bays for those tasks.

OP is very clearly after a 5 digit Rolex but I think the Tudor's are the best option for those who are just looking for the vintage 5 digit aesthetics.

Lots of differences, as others have noted above, especially in how it feels on the wrist. I wouldn't worry about the magnetism issue. A watch can usually just be demagnetized if it happens (you can even buy your own demagnetizer on Amazon and do it yourself), and i haven't had any problems with my Series K GMT in 8 years.

3185 is without prarchrom hair spring and can get magnetized. But the newer version of the GMT has parachrom spring that can not be magnetized.

I know both watches can do +/2 secs. They both look great. I am not worried about the power reserve. 48 to 50 reserve is fine with me.

The newer one has triple lock crown and the old one has double triple crown lock system but both systems have been validated for 100meters.

The colors on the Aluminum bezel are vibrant and are more closer to Pepsi color than the new one. The new GMT colors are more muted and look like maroon and navy blue. But theses colors will not fade away because it's cerachrome.

I think the biggest difference is magnetism.
Please let me know! Thanks
The biggest difference is the case size and contours, followed by the bezel insert (aluminum vs cerachrom), followed by the bracelet (light and hollow vs heavier and solid)… and of course price (unless you are getting a 126710 from an AD)

Honestly, I’d base it on your aesthetic preferences and what you find to wear more comfortably.

After years of wear of both the 126710 and 16710 I give the nod to the 16710 because I like the way it wears and the way it looks better. It’s all personal, I doubt any one would say much bad about either model.

Pretty much my thoughts as well. I was stuck between both references until I tried them on for the first time and I immediately knew the 16710 was for me.
