Milgauss love
Bought this real spur of moment, as soon as it was discontinued.
Mint 2018 on eBay, paid a bit over list but always kind of liked it. Thought may be a good one to keep and maybe sell in a few years. Well now I have it cannot believe what a beautiful watch it really is, Love absolutely everything about it, the thickness, the curves and that green Crystal. I don’t think I will be parting with this anytime soon! |

It's fantastic, isn't it? I have the Z-blue, but both variations are simply excellent in every way. The heft of the watch for being stainless steel, the fit and comfort it provides, the simple 3-hand layout with a touch of quirkiness in that lightning bolt second hand, and that gorgeous green-tinted crystal. A magnificent timepiece!

Nice. I have a 116900 (same case) and also love the proportions of it.

I have the same one. Hope it grows on you the same way it did for me. Very comfortable despite the thickness. Love the uniqueness of it.

Congrats! The Milgauss was long underrated in the grand scheme of things. Beautiful watch!

Since its introduction, the Milgauss with the green glass was always high on my want list!! I bit the bullet a while ago as well from the AD!! As an engineer in high tech I really appreciate it and what it represents. It always tweaks me when people point out that the term Milgauss is out of touch with its capabilities pr those of its competitors. I'm sure Dodecamilgauss would roll of the tongue much better. Great watch and I'm really sorry to see it gone from the catalog but happy I've got one!!!

This watch was mint everywhere except the back where it had obviously been rested on bracelet!
So this was my very first attempt at taking an abrasive green pad to it (Scary stuff). But well masked off and very very careful. Extremely happy with results, wish I had before and after pictures. Tinkered with my Breitlings over the years but first Rolex What do you think? |

I would say you have a very good result!
After some years wearing my Explorer 39mm the rear of my case needed some attention and although I did get quite a good result with the green scotch cloth I thought perhaps a better alternative was the Bergeon 5444B polishing block. It is easy to use enabling the balanced matt finish. There is a finer block A and a course block C. B is the medium. Years ago at my local Rolex MD I had the choice of the Milguass or Explorer but I was into hiking a deal then and thought the Exp 39mm perhaps more suitable. Just wish I could have afforded both! They are both under the radar watches so easy to wear at any occasion! Enjoy! |
