The payment system doesn't bother me especially because they disclosed this up front and it is generally solvable by calling the bank ahead of time. But again, just tired of waiting years for my watches. They could have just as easily made the watches first and then sold them :) I am sure quite a few will hit the forums so maybe I will reconsider then.

I agree with this! Hard to wait. But if they can get 500 people to prepay, it makes way more business sense for them. Guaranteed sales, customers paying for all the manufacturing up front, and 0 inventory costs.

Except the longer you sit on deposits, the greater the percentage of customers who will chargeback... and your dispute response has no real evidence, since you never shipped anything.

Either way, I think 50% deposits that you sit on for 6+ months is a steep hurdle. (Not the dollar amount, the percentage.)

Which is, imho, why Ming needs a real business partner who knows how to....

Unless of course Ming prefers being a small producer. That's cool by me. They don't need to care what anyone thinks, they seem happy with how things are today, and once again that's cool. Yet guys like me will walk away and not give them another thought as there are so many great choices in the market today. Of course there are so many customers and flippers of Ming right now so no worries, they'll sell every timepiece they can produce, and good for them.

i do wish Ming well and glad they know that customer service and fixing defective products from existing pieces is of paramount importance.

I just want them to merge with SE - I feel like that’s a logical next move. And would help push them to a more normal business model

I took the plunge and secured one. Looking forward to receiving it, next year.

Will post up, when it arrives.

Ideally, without a date; yes. Or, at least have the date window closer to the edge of the dial. As it is, the date is too close to the the moon phase function, IMHO.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid, sub $100 after-market strap for this watch?

For that price, there are other independent micro-brands out there who use better movements. In fact, there are some with in-house COSC movements.

Example that I came across today (never heard of them before):

I have this watch, absolutely love it, great for travel to places that "under the radar" watches should be worn. The lume is amazing, highly accurate, comfortable, swimmable, in house movement

Yeah except that’s nothing like the Ming moonphase, which is much dressier.

37.05 is already out. The poster is asking for a strap recommendation.

Love that Ming moon phase as well. I was just replying to the question about the Norqain neverest. Not really a comparison to the Ming.
