15500st to 26331st panda
Recently got my first RO which was a 15500st with black dial (had a 44mm ROO). Traded in the ROO to acquire my first RO on steel bracelet and it’s just mesmerizing. Love the bracelet!
Now, got my eyes on potentially trading in the 15500st for the 26331st panda. My interest was peaked as I’m hearing it’s going to be around 5-8k difference to upgrade! A few months back the prices were quite different but now it’s feasible for me. What happened here?! Any thoughts / opinions? For me personally I love the panda dial, still get the amazing bracelet, I know it’s moving to a non in-house movement. From a looks perspective I love the ROC more. Previously it was a no brainer to me to stay with 15500st as going for the 26331st was a lot more difference in price (grey market). |

I'd stick with what you have and look at boutique to add...
The watches are almost too similar to do yet another trade where you'll take the short end of the stick. Outside of a Chrono complication that 98%rarely or never use, its almost the same watch and bracelet. Minus a see through case back... I wouldn't do it |

I have a silver 26240 and a blue 15510 and like them both. Similarly, I sold a ROOC to acquire the 15510. I do not believe I would have sold the 26240 for the 15510. They’re very similar but also different enough I don’t mind having both. If you’re a one AP person and don’t see yourself being able to add the Panda and keep the 15500 then so it.
Life’s way too short to not enjoy the items we want. I think you should wait because you probably lost out on the first upgrade and have to add cash on the second, so maybe simply adding later down the road is the way to get the best of both worlds. |

It's a tough call (at least for me) as the Panda has always been my grail piece. I just picked up a black dial 15500 and love it. Having tried on both I feel the 15500 wears more comfortably (I remember being taken aback by the weight of the 26331). Then again, it comes down to personal preference/desire. Is the 26331 something you always wanted? The reason I went w/ the 15500 (it has always been my second choice) was that all the available 26331s were in super rough shape or the prices seemed way too high to me (almost $50k for a like new one).
Certainly would like to add it to the collection one day but I am more than satisfied w/ my 15500. |

For me I am in a one AP person, not in position to add a second AP to my collection. I have always liked Chrono over non Chrono (should budget allow for it). As the prices get closer my itch to trade again comes. However yes I would be losing twice in a short period of time in terms of trading - what are the chances the price difference between the two get larger again over time? What exactly is happening here, are the 15500 getting more valuable or are the 26331 losing traction in terms of popularity / availability?

Personally I prefer the cleanness and purity of the 15500st to the Chrono, so would not trade regardless of cash. But which do you prefer and by how much!

Crazy two days but the dealer I'm working with has a black 26331st AND a panda available for me. I took some close up shots of the 26331st panda, can you guys take a look at it - to me everything seems to check out except for some reason there is no 1220 marking on the inner side of the bracelet. It is there on my 15500st and also the black dial 26331st the dealer has. Missing on this panda though.. any ideas?
Full set with warranty info that I was able to add to my profile and the serial and warranty no. is correct. |

I’d pick the black over the white if they’re both equally available? In daylight they’re both stunning. But the black dial 26331 really comes alive at night. The silver sub-dials pop under certain lighting — the flashes of light can be noticeable from across the room. The outer ring of each sub-dial also create amazing depth not captured in photos. The white dial comes across as a bit more flat / laid back / maybe a little more sporty overall. The whole dial has a shiny iridescent glow — but it’s not the same pop as the silver sub-dials. Equally gorgeous but an entirely different experience on the wrist irl. I’d try them both on again!

I had originally decided to do black and not pay the premium for panda but in person I felt the white dial had much more pop and yes looked more sporty! Black very much classic look. So I took the panda but everything looks perfect it’s just the 1220 missing that’s making me scratch my head. I don’t want to take it back and get the black dial instead..
I just need to find some clarification about why the bracelet in this particular panda doesn’t have the 1220 marked inside but my other 15500st and the black dial 26331st the dealer had does as well. I could ask for a bracelet swap maybe since they are same size but those aren’t in as good condition as this panda one - it’s practically new no scratches at all! |
