SOH42 Rubber Strap vs. Bracelet

Hi everyone!

I've had my Superocean Heritage B20 42 since 2020 and I'm looking to change things up a bit by changing its strap/bracelet.

I've actually been wearing the watch on a totally different bracelet - also from Breitling - but none of the options the watch originally came with. So neither the rubber strap nor the milanese bracelet saw any wrist time, and I can't really remember the feeling when trying the watch on back in 2020.

Anyone have wrist time with both, the milanese bracelet and the rubber strap, and mind share some of their experience and opinion on both options?

I never wore a watch on a rubber strap, so that would certainly be a first. The SOH42 is a big watch on my wrist, and one of the benefits of having a rubber strap might be that it snugs the wrist a little more than a steel bracelet (thus changing the perception of the actual watch size)?

Yet again, I've been told the milanese bracelet is one of the best bracelets Breitling make, so I certainly consider asking my boutique for one of them.

I owned the SOHC for a few years and mostly wore it on the rubber mesh starp with the tang buckle. The strap was probably one of the most comfortable straps I've ever worn. With how the strap wears, there's no need to pay extra for the larger deployant buckle.

I didn't hate the milanese bracelet but the rubber was just so much more comfortable for a daily wearer. It's obviously a lot less flashy as well and I think it looks better on rubber. I had the blue SOHC so I went with the blue strap. I also had one of the Breitling nato straps as well but only wore that a few times. I liked the rubber strap so much on the SOHC that I bought the black version as well for my Chronomat Airborne.

Go for the rubber mesh, you won't regret it.

I'm wearing it on the rubber mesh strap (with the Breitling folding clasp it came with) and like you've said, its really comfortable!

I didn't have the chance yet to compare it with the Milanese bracelet, so still curious to hear different opinions and experiences. Tbh, my wrist can just about pull off a 42mm watch, so I prefer the strap/bracelet where it wears smaller.

So I've been wearing a 33mm dress watch for the past month as my daily, and I find its a gigantic leap back to a 42mm sports watch. Also, I wouldn't mind them making a slimmer clasp as its 22mm or more wide.

I've owned the 42mm SuperOcean Heritage II on the Milanese bracelet for a few years and the bracelet is one of the main reasons I purchased the watch. I don't like rubber straps except on Casios, but that's just me.

I agree I think the bracelet really makes the watch stand out. I have not tried the rubber strap yet, perhaps this Summer.

I think I'll eventually end up getting the milanese bracelet so I can wear the rubber strap in the summer and change to the bracelet in the winters.

Do you think the watch wears bigger on the bracelet or the strap?
