Just center link polished during service?

My BLNR is 9 years old, well worn and has probably travelled nearly 1M miles in its life. In the next few years I will likely send in for service. (Knock on wood) no dings or dents but the PLCs on the bracelet are really looking “brushed”. Anyone ever get just the bracelet PLCs polished and nothing else? If so, happy with result?

We had a thread here a few weeks back where it was mentioned that Rolex does a full polish, if at all. No partial touch ups. Makes sense as a watch may look not quite right, if partially polished, which would reflect poorly on RSC.

Yeah, I don’t think RSC would do a partial polish, and rightfully so in this case. I don’t think it would look very good to only polish the PCLs.

Personally, I embrace the scratches but nothing wrong with a full polish.

Post some pics please…

With Rolex its all or nothing but you are trying to figure this out now when you aren't sending it in for the next few years??? You can predict its condition in a few years?

You already have an avant garde brushed finish. I'd leave it personally. I think the PCLs look goofy on the GMTs.

But if you want to go that route I'd tell the RSC no polishing and send it in sans bracelet.

Get an indie watchmaker to polish the bracelet.

I think Rolex requires the complete watch, bracelet and all, to do a service.

People have sent in watch heads only.

But if they throw a fit it doesn't really matter. If you tell them no polishing just get it back and take the bracelet off later.

I can predict my PCLs will not polish themselves.

Lovely watch that appears used as it should be. I would just let them do the whole thing. Really won’t hurt anything and the watch will be back to as new since all scratches I can see look superficial and you mentioned no dings.
