I know you guys are right. I just hate to spend so much money on something and have anybody think it's fake. I want people to KNOWWW it's real without even a question. But JDC said it best...if someone is gonna think it's fake, it'll be with or without the lugholes lol. Thanks for all the input guys =)

The SD has the pin hole and the Sub date has the solid lugs. Should of kept the one with the holes , to me its a much more sturdier..The spring bars on the non holes do not go in too much . My opinion I figure instead of seeing a watch with something else in the background I think this is appropriate..Sorry for the quality of the pic took them on a whim..

Controlling other's thoughts is a exercise in futility. Wear a t shirt that says: In case you're wondering my Rolex is real.
Btw, I love lung holes.

Technically, they are not "pinholes" but pierced lugs... We are not talking about cameras here...

FWIW, pierced lugs are cool. Adds to the utility and tool watch aspect. Without pierced lugs, removing the bracelet requires a little more effort.

Ironically only my oldest Rolex does not have lug holes.

Make sure that you are using the proper and authentic Rolex spring bar. As has been mentioned, they should fill the lug hole almost completely. Using substandard spring bars puts your watch at risk.

Also, I wonder if the old way isn't somewhat stronger. The spring bar is inserted into the strong solid lug for more of its length.

Hi, I recently bought a 1990 Datejust and I see that one of my lug holes are missing a pin or spring, I'm not sure what there called. Is this bad? Can this exposed hole cause damage to the case internals? One hole does have a pin inside but other one does not. It looks like this hole is only attached near the band/bracelet but I'm not sure. Any info would be appreciated. THANKS
