Quick bracelet polish

I found an old thread posted by Tools with instructions for freshening up a bracelet using a Scotch Brite pad.

Very happy with the results.

Looks great. Pretty easy to do as well for the nice results you get.

Looks great

FWIW I have used the same approach on PM. Yeah I know gasp lol but if you do a good taping the PCL's and take your time you can achieve really really good results.

But I have only done PM once.

I had some pretty gnarly abuse on a 3 link area on my 935. Turned out great. Wont be doing it again even though the results were top notch. At least the wifey was blown away

How much does an AD with certified watchmaker charge to perform this brush job?
Bet it’s a 10 minute operation with proper brush

The Scotch Brite Pads work great. I wouldn't recommend using the kitchen ones. I prefer the 3M Commercial pads, 07445 (white), 07447 (maroon), and 07448 (grey). The 07447 is the rougher of the bunch and works well to change PCL's to satin fairly quickly then followed up by the 07448 (grey) to put a nice satin finish on the bracelet. The white pad is even smoother and gives the finish a low lustre satin look.

You can get the set of 3 on Amazon for under $25.

The 3M gray “block” has the perfect grain for the clasp on my Speedmaster, I touch it up every so often. Although not perfect it can also be used on brushed Rolex bracelets as well. Have used it on my OP’s clasp with good results too.

I read somewhere that there is such a pencil like tool or an ink eraser works too.

Can someone confirm this?

I have the Swiss made "pencil" like tool and don't use it. It has a bunch of fiberglass strands protruding out the end in a small circle about 1/8" in diameter. It may work for a small area but the small surface area does not work well over a larger span like a bracelet or clasp to achieve a consistent smooth finish.

Not looking to get flamed here - OP great you are happy but this doesn't look good to me. I would either wait for service or if I had a need have the work done professionally. This looks DIY.

Look at a newer bracelet that is factory and this side by side - should be easy to see what I mean.
