Traditionelle. Though I prefer the white gold since it’s easier to match as I typically wear black shoes paired with silver buckled belts

Is the white gold one still available? I don't see it on the website. I also found some black dials on c24, but not on the official website. Are those limited editions?

Traditionelle self-winding is very very nice in person:

The price is quite a bit higher than manual-winding, but maybe comes close to your budget if bought "almost new".

Let us know what you decide. The Traditionnelle was my choice as a simple dress VC, as the looks, size, and manual wind caliber are all to my taste. Unless you have large wrists, I think the Patrimony is too large is a bit plain, and I don't like the date (and non-VC and non-Geveva Seal movement) on the base Fiftysix. However, I would strongly favor a steel Fiftsix in the day-date and complete calendar configuration for more of a daily office watch.

Thank you all for your feedbacks. Loved the Traditionnelle once I tried it on the wrist which made my decision easy. Photos to come!

I didn’t know that they have a 36mm blue Patrimony, but saw this at the NYC Boutique. Here’s a picture of my wrist shot.

Overall, the smaller size works a lot better and it’s super nice. Kinda of a toss up between this and a Traditionnelle… I like the Traditionaelle case and the dial design more. However, this 36mm wears small with the thin case and its inward taper shape definitely makes it more of a vintage gold watch feel.

Seeing them both in person, the Traditionelle was my favorite by a long way. But then to my disappointment, I tried it on and it just didn't sit well on my wrist (I think I'm 7.5"). As it's 38mm and quite thick it looked and felt a bit odd.

The Patrimony didn't feel quite right either.

The SA brough out a Traditionelle complete calendar at 41mm and it was perfect for my wrist.

Originally I wanted a dress watch with no complications - now I'm unsure as I'm pretty set on another VC.

The Traditionnelle complete calendar is a stunner at 41mm, but at 40k+ is more than what I wanted to spend for a dress watch. I wanted to keep it simple. Also tried on the Historique Corne de Vache in RG. That piece looked stunning but 58k for a manual movement was hard to swallow. Movement looked beautiful though!

My SA confirmed that white gold has in fact been discontinued.

Like Goldilocks, the Traditionelle for me was 'just right' for a simple uncomplicated (manual wind) dress watch under 20k. The sharp sword hands, the applied markers and VC logo, the Geneva seal on both movement and case. I considered Lange 1815 small seconds (36 too small, 38 too pricey, didn't like the cut off "6"), the Lange Up/Down (for me it throws off the perfect symmetry of the seconds only 1815), the Patrimony (didn't like the anemic hands and hour markers, too large at 40mm - same reason the Fiftysix was out for me), the Calatrava (kind of meh...but not in my price range anyway), and the Lange Saxonia (very close call but I just preferred the railroad markers of the Traditionelle to all the minute dots/markers of the Saxonia just floating in space on the dial).

Not to say any of these watches aren't great...just my personal tastes led me to this one.

They are all great watches for different reasons. If you are a purist and care about the Geneva seal and in-house movements, I would go for the Patrimony or the Traditionelle. That being said, I love my Fiftysix, due to its sportiness, design, sector dial and the combination of arabic numerals and baton indices. Cheers!

I realized I never updated this thread. I ended up picking the Traditionnelle. My first dress piece and loving it! Thank you all for all the feedbacks.

Great choice! And they stopped producing the watch, that makes it even more special.

From the VC Boutique. I have one too and they told recently that they sold the last one and it’s not produced anymore. Apparently they want to make the Traditionelle line focused on Complications and the Patrimony line will feature the „simpler“ (is this even the right word??) watches.

Wow - I was literally in the VC boutique in Chicago today and the sales associate took my name to call me when one comes in. She didn’t say anything about it being discontinued…

Interesting. I'm not sure I agree, but I can understand that.

Patrimony self-winding date for me, aka Contemporaine. Plain is right up my alley.
