I did like the 16710, especially the versatility with both bracelets, but I never really connected with it; the lighter weight, the small crown…loved it in photos, just not on my wrist.

I recommend it, especially if you have tried on the the 126710, it you like the size, weight and extra bling.

Good luck with your decision.
My feelings exactly. Older Rolex watches do have a charm to them, but new models just feel more premium in my opinion.

I would go for a modern Rolex, it's more robust compared to a vintage version

I have both a 5 digit and 6 digit, so that makes me no money.

Own both. BLNR gets the most wrist time. I think I keep the 16710 for nostalgic reasons but prefer the newer versions.

You mentioned purchasing a few Daytona's in a row: how many, and which references?

If it were me, I would get rid of one of those instead of the 16710, however I am not a huge Daytona fan.

I regret trading my 16710 for "newer and flashier." I've I'm ever able to get another 16710, it'll stay with me forever.

Exactly or you’ll end up without a watch for too long! I have a 126710 BLRO and really like it. Sold a 2008 3186 GMT Pepsi and didn’t miss it. I did sell mine ahead of time but already had a matte dial Pepsi for GMT duty but had a wait for sure.

It wouldn’t be my choice — and I’ve owned both:

I would keep the 16710, such a very classic watch! However, I’m also not a big fan of the larger cases of the newer GMTs :p

I know you said money is tight, but try to make it happen and keep 16710 and add blnr.

I have owned the 16710 numerous of times. Somehow I like the idea more than actually owning it. The BLRO gives me more with regards of the wearing experience.

Thank you all for your feedback!

I will keep the 16710 for the time being and decide once I get the 126710 offered!

That in my opinion is the best decision!

Same here. Made a mistake some years back of trading my 16710 but was fortunate to pick up another fairly quickly. Wont make that mistake again!
