It is meant to be scratched. It is metallic with flat shiny polished surfaces which come into contact with the world from time to time.

Don’t worry about it that’s not major. I could remove that in about 10 seconds with a yellow sunshine cloth.

Enjoy your watch and don't let it bother you, might get to see more of that in the future unless you plan to keep it.

1) Thats not a scratch… that’s normal wear. Too many people here maybe can’t really afford their Rolex if wearing it and accumulating normal wear marks is so horrific. If it has to look brand new then leave it in the safe. Otherwise wear it and enjoy it. My pieces are all in great condition but definitely have normal wear marks and patina. Why else have them? 2) Your daughter’s fingers did not do that. Sorry. This was all you. |

what I have learned over the years is that you cant love watches without getting yourself comfertable with scratches and dents.
If you cant get comfertable, life will become quite hard (unnecessarily). |

I understand you as I have "safe queens" that I only wear in the following conditions:
1. Short sleeves - long sleeves brush against them 2. When I'm not drinking - God forbid I overdo it and fall or bang them against something 3. On my off days - my work gets watches banged up Now the funny part, NONE of my Rolex watches, or other "expensive" pieces like my JLC Reverso or Omega Moonwatch are in that category. In fact out of 20+ watches I own, only 3 are in that category 1. 1960's King Seiko 45 that is in immaculate condition and I don't want to be the person to be the first to put a scratch or dent in it (I'm saving it for future generations) 2. DW-5000SL - YES, a G-Shock. 15 years old, my first G-Shock, went thru hell and back with me, the first bezel even had paint and pieces fall off due to how banged up it was. Now it's on a new bezel and strap and it has earned it's "retirement" being worn only on special occasions or at home when those conditions above are met. 3. 1960's Doxa - my wife, then girlfriend, bought it for me as a present when we were starting pur relationship, so it has sentimental value and being chrome plated brass and plexiglass, I don't want to wear thru any of those two. All 3 cost less than a service for a Rolex, but to me they are priceless and I take care of them. On the Sub, which is my most worn watch currently, only the first scratch kind of hurt, but I enjoy wearing it so much I knew it will get much worse with age and just accepted it.
