Depends on if you want an exclusive Rolex only collection?

I notice you have several including one in a precious metal so you have the basis covered.

I voted AP, they are fascinating watches with a great history. Also you would have the makings of a more diverse collection rather than just Rolex (nothing wrong with an all Rolex collection mind)

The datejust is wonderful but seems a little out of place considering the elevated company!

With the AP you are getting True haute Horology, small amount made every year and wonderful workmanship

Not at all Allen, these are incredible quartz movements, highly respected and very accurate, around +-5 seconds a year. Also there is the proffesional heritage of them, most of the air display teams in the world use them!

If you want bracelet and no straps, then IMHO eliminate PAM from your list. The appeal, to me, of these watches is largely based on the aftermarket straps.

AP, I have never been a fan of these watches, respectful . . yes, but a fan aesthetically no.

Breitling, ahhh, possibly. Depends on the model.

The new DJ, maybe.

But the new DD, absolutely.

If not the new DD, then I would consider a PAM 88 with a STRAP (actually, several straps!). But you said only bracelet, so that leaves . . .

DD in platinum.

President DD in 18K YG
From your current list of watches, this would be my next logical step. Its difficult to top a Daytona... Actually I would choose a Audemars Piguet if I had a Daytona already.

A Rolex DD sounds tempting! Is there an iconic model for AP if I went that route? Royal Oak?

Thanks

I say go for an AP, its what i would be next. You already have several rolex's and they all tend to look kinda the same....in the sense that the GMT, Daytona, YM pretty much share the same bracelet, the sub has the same bracelet has the old GMT, and its seems like sooner or later you definitely are going to add more rollies to the collection, which is great. However, now whilst you have the chance/opportunity/will to create a little amount of diversity, i suggest u go for it. The AP is a rung above the ladder when compared to Rolex - which doesnt matter tooo much. But they look great/fantastic, they have a solid reputation has watch crafters, i'd say the movement is more asthetic than a rolex, maybe even more detailed - yes. But before u get stuck on the brand first, i say get stuck on different models and then choose a brand. Other brands that i would consider - Chopard (w/ L.U.C movements - sport 2000), Panerai (8 days would be the only model that i would care to purchase), Piaget (Emperador - to me, classier that a DD, doesnt seem typical), VC ( love the overseas model with the slate dial), Breguet XXI Transatlantic, AP (simple royal oak, metal bracelet, black dial).....too add futher to yur confusion...hmmm JLC??? LOL

GOOD LUCK!

I would go with the DD in classic size if I could afford it and it seems you can. You are well covered on "sports" models and the DD on a Pres is just the ultimate within the Rolex realm. Going outside that is another story altogether if you ask me. Let us know what you get....please.

If I had the money, I would pick the Day-Date. What strikes me a bit is how different your choices are that you are picking between. If I were not picking the Rolex, I might be interested in the Panerai at this point.

Yesterday, I was talking to a jeweler who used to carry Audemars Piguet. Since I had some time until my next appointment, I decided to stop in to the shop and look at the watches. I wanted to see which AP they had currently in stock. My surprise is that they didn't have any and had decided not to keep the line because too many of their customers had been experiencing problems and when they sent the watches out to be repaired, they often came back not fixed! This was a surprise to me. I had been considering buying an AP, but not anymore. Hope you enjoy shopping for your new watch.
