Saw a wonderful sub 1680 today!
My first vintage Rolex sighting today was when I went to my local watchmaker to pick up one of my vintages that he had been fixing. I spied this beauty on his wrist and I said I had not noticed him wearing it before.
He told me his Dad had purchased it new in 1970 he thinks and had worn it up untill he passed it on to my watchmaker who will I am sure pass it on to his son when the time comes. The condition of the watch is outstanding, you can see it has been worn but very well loved, the dial and hands were unmarked and apart from daily wear and tear marks on the case and bracelet those too were immaculate. I just wish I had a camera with me at the time This was one of the most beautiful watches I have ever seen, there is something about the simplicity of the design that is just so right, makes the new one coming out this year look contrived in comparison! I can see this leading me down an expensive road |

I love my 1680. The tall plastic is cool.
