Rubber strap for Code 1159
Now that it's launched for 4 years, is there any aftermarket rubber strap that fits perfectly (i.e. a strap that fills the lug space completely)? I know the OEM ones don't do that which is one of the reasons I did not acquire one yet.

I don't think there are. Not sure that would look that nice. The case has been finished with an octagonal finish all around, so think that would look quite weird...

I would simply stick with AP straps. apparently the code's strap is some of the hardest to change per my AS SA, so putting an aftermarket strap on it could lead to harm of your watch. OEM will always be the best way to go imo.

Yep, due to the gold screws, it's extremely fragile, be careful if you want to change the strap

I've tried a number of different straps (leather, rubber, etc) with the code and didn't find much satisfaction. Usually the problem I had was horizontal fit was fine, but they all looked too flat or think if you will vertically because of how thick/high the watch sits. The AP strap at least has so much padding on the strap where the pins go in that it doesn't have the same problems.
Looking straight down the watch they all looked fine, especially if just sitting on the table. But from the side when I was wearing it I always thought it looked wierd on the non OEM code strap. |

WIS Watch Straps
I have tried WIS for a few of my other watches. Not a code, but I like them a lot on my Rolex's and use the quick release for my Omega and Breitling. Slightly better quality and slightly better price than competitors in my opinion.
The code strap does look like a generic Panerai strap though. |
