I've been to Costco like 6 times in the last two weeks.

It's fun to walk around -- just not when it's insanely busy (ie. on the weekend). There are also a couple of social media pages that are costco specific that highlight new stuff in the stores, etc. I am guilty of following one account/page like that

They used to be called Price Costco, now it's just Costco, and in Latin America they are called Price Smart.

Last time I tried Costco they had more selections than Sams but Sams have the brands I like. That and with the Sams Plus membership they ship dry goods free and that saves me gas since the closest Sams and Costco is 45 miles away.

It’s a madhouse in there. As a family of two, we don’t need giant cans of beefarino. I am glad I own stock in COST. I understand most of the profit is from membership fees.

It's just me and my wife but I find bulk shopping more convenient. For one I don't run out of stuff and I can buy them when they go on sale and stock up instead of buying them when I run out regardless what they cost. Obviously I'm not into buying giant cans of food, but smaller cans do have an extremely long shelf life as do all of the things I buy in bulk. Most of Covid issues have cleared up, but not all. Shortages still occur but buying in bulk and keeping things stocked up which I did prior to Covid usually results in me not running out.

I make one visit to the actual Sams store once every three months first thing in the morning which avoids all crowds and have everything else normally dry goods and can goods shipped for free on a monthly basis.

My grandparents and my parents had pantries stocked with can goods all the time.

Sounds kinda serious, perhaps a self-help group is in order?

Oh Costco!

My wife buys all my clothes at Costco. LOL!

I never go shopping for myself. It’s sort of pathetic and embarrassing. And everything I wear, my wife bought at Costco. Jeans, pants, shirts, socks, underwear, shoes, shorts, sneaks, jackets, sweats…

One of these days, I need to take control of the situation and fix this.

Pretty good if you find one you like, then purchase with Costco card for the rewards.

We impulsively booked a trip to Turks and Caicos in shoulder season through Costco back in 2018- it was very economic for a really nice place. Probably one of our favorite trips together- we had so much fun, and that was our first trip of 5 to our favorite place!
In Aus they sell Tudor watches

I was in a store much like Costco years ago. I thought it was a place you go to buy kids.

Every cart was full of boxes of junk food and multiple kids hanging off it.

So I never went back because I was never interested in having kids.

I've been in Costco exactly once. Visiting our daughter and her and son in law wanted to make a stop on our way home from a day out. Wife tagged along with them, and I wandered off for about an hour and a half while they piled their cart up. I didn't see one single thing and I wanted to purchase. Another hour of hell waiting to check out. Yeah, no thanks.

They may sell a lot of TVs because they have them on display but the way I understand it they typically don't sell them for any more or any less than what the manufacturer prices them at everywhere else.

People think the prices are cheaper. They are not.

Our local Costco location is only 2 years old and competes with Sam's Club.

They often have sales on Lavazza espresso, 2.2 lb bag for like $14.00. It is very, very good. I stock up when they put it on sale. Works great in our automatic machine, I drink it on the "coffee" setting, so it comes out as a nice Americano. Their sparkling water is very good as well- great price compared to retail Lacroix or Pellegrino.

I buy my gas there because it's top tier and it's cheaper than anywhere else. The savings there alone pays for most of the fee.

They also tend to try to source much of their food responsibly - not so much the chicken, but the fish. I always get my salmon there because it is more often than not antibiotic free and often organic and usually very fresh (freshly defrosted). Not always cheaper, but you do get what you pay for.

And their private label wine tends to be a tasty bargain.

But I really hate the shopping experience, mostly because I don't like people, and I especially don't like crowds of people.

I'm the guy who gets gas at 7 AM on Saturday to avoid the lines.

That’s one of the reasons I like Sams. It’s Plus Members only from 08:00 AM to 10:00 AM during the week, so when I go it’s then and there is hardly anyone there. The other reason I have their Plus Membership as I mentioned is they ship dry goods free with that membership so as long as I don’t need cold goods I just have it shipped. Since I buy in bulk only actually got to the actual store once every three months.
