H. Moser and Cie Streamliner green dial vs LE Pioneer Centre Seconds 40mm titanium -
Hi all. Interested here in acquiring a Moser on bracelet and was considering the very sharp looking green Streamliner. But recently learned about the 40mm titanium Pioneer diver, which frankly looks pretty boss in its own right. Given the obvious differences, curious what the good folks of trf think between the two. If you were to have only 1, which would it be and why?

I think the streamliner is a more distinct case shape and bracelet, but you're still getting the great fumé dial with the pioneer diver, so if that's the real differentiator for you then I'd say go for it. I think it depends on a lot on the rest of your collection and what would make it a clear wear for you.

Since I already have many divers, the green Streamliner is my choice.

Thanks y’all. I guess the diver caught me by surprise with its sweet spot dimensions, titanium construction, and unique look. It’s a classic diver with all the right timeless elements. But it’s got its own thing going on. The more you look the more it asserts its character.
On a pure looks and sculptural elegance basis the Streamliner wins. Is it timeless? Time will tell, but I’m optimistic. It also costs a bit more. These are cons I guess. I agree that something I’m excited to wear, in the context of what I already have, is key. I don’t have many watches and only 2 sure keepers - one is a sub but it’s gold, which is awesome but doesn’t work well in my work environment. So it only gets weekend and holiday time. A kickass unique elegant diver that doesn’t say rolex on it would work really well in my day to day. Streamliner would stand out more, but I reckon it won’t get any weird attention except from watch nerds, plus it’s a beautiful thing and a better element of a small collection. It’s perhaps more of a Ginger to the diver’s MaryAnne … Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Love the look, feel, micro adjustable bracelet, size of 40 mm. It gets plenty of wrist time ! Limited edition doesn't hurt either.

I was comparing the two last year as well. Here’s the one I chose
Very light weight and versatile. The rubber strap it comes with is amazing. The bezel has such a cool look to it. And there’s only 100 made. |

Love the pics. The textured dark metal with the blue dial and the whiter than white markers really work for me. Along with the updated dimensions it’s just uncommonly cool. Streamliner is uncommonly cool too. It would mostly boil down to what I’d have more fun wearing, a quality on which it’s worth reflecting

Super cool. They’re both great watches. I picked up the Streamliner salmon dial, but I really want this one too. What’s the bezel material? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My impression is the diver has nothing unique about it. Doesn’t have a personality. But that could be just me. Streamliner for me!!

I have the "diver" (I presume you mean the Govberg LE model - all sold out but available on Chrono 24 I think) and the Streamline chrono (blue - not the green you're after). Both very different watches. Weight - Streamliner very heavy in steel (chronograph even more so due to the movement) titanium one almost too light. Both mega-comfortable bracelets. The adjustable clasp on the titanium is amazing. Both dials fantastic. Just try on the green dragon - it might be too much for you.

I went with the Govberg Pioneer as well. I love divers, I love blue dials, I love titanium, I love adjustable clasps and I love Globolight/LumiCast lumed indices/hands. I tried to not buy this watch for many months but the pull was too strong

Lol I’m sure it won’t be too much for me. Unfortunately it’s unlikely that I could try on either one without serious effort given my location and relative rarity of both. The chronograph btw frankly looks awesome, but the nominal size and thickness turn me off a bit. Perhaps I can find somewhere within reason I could try on both with a bit of planning. Good to know thanks! I had assumed they’d be sold out. I agree they’re pretty different. But they would fill a mostly overlapping role as a workday daily in an office/laboratory environment. I almost never wear a suit, but I like to be different from the usual jeans/sneakers/hoodie crowd or the less common business casual guys. I’d prefer a 40mm watch on a bracelet, with high excellence-to-brand-recognition ratio, thus my interest in Moser. In this case, one leans more dressy/shiny, the other more casual/understated but otherwise both fit the bill Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Great collection! And good to get feedback from a dive watch aficionado. You’re correct that the govberg has personality in spades, for all the reasons stated. I only have one diver, a sub, and I love it’s proportions and the way it wears and it’s general divey-ness. The only downside is that it would be weird wearing it at work, tech culture being what it is. Incidentally my heart is still leaning Streamliner but this titanium pioneer at 40mm surprised and delighted me (at least in photos) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Awesome collection and I completely agree with your assessment. The Moser is very unique. It stands out in your collection and isn’t really like anything else out there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
