Day-Date 40 Lacquer Green Dial

Looking to celebrate a career achievement soon and have decided I want to get one of my big grail pieces being the day date 40.. I really love the green lacquer dial and the silver dial (obviously both for different reasons) but I was curious what the forum's thoughts were on how difficult the Green lacquer dial would be to get ?
I've got a fairly significant purchase history and this would be my fifth Rolex from my AD.. Any thoughts or opinions appreciated!!!

Should be doable, but will likely require some time. Just guessing, but I bet an AD gets maybe 1 or so if these a year.

I’m thinking about the same watch.

Yeah, I know my rep said a while back they hadn't seen it yet but this was early this year.. I'd be just as happy with the Silver dial as well since that's the one I had my eye on before the green dial was released. Put name in for both and now we wait..

Silver would be easier to get imo and tbh I would rather the silver dial….either sticks or romans.

I’ve heard silver dial is easier, but you never. Unless it is an allocation piece, I think a lot depends on whether the AD has you in mind when they open the shipment. Best of luck to you!

Day-Date 40 Lacquer Green Dial

They apparently don’t get many and many people ask for one. It’s the toughest YG catalog DD to get for sure.

Depending on which 4 watches you’ve bought, may be a stretch.

Doable, though.

Ask your AD, they will have a far better knowledge of likely arrivals / allocations of this watch than a bunch of strangers from around the world.

It’s a great piece and with prices the way the seem to be heading, may not be too tricky to pick up especially the silver dial close to retail if your AD can’t help.

Good luck.

Yes, that's what I've heard.. My History is 2 DJ36 two tone, 126613LN , and a Pepsi which I received within a week of putting in the request last year so we shall see...

Thanks for your input! I'm terrified of the grey market for many reasons so I guess I'll be stuck waiting it out with the AD but can't complain so far they've always been good to me... Fingers crossed.

The silver dial was the original one I've always wanted so I'd be more than happy with it.. Prefer it with the romans but man what a gorgeous piece...

Talk with your AD and see what they say. The green is beautiful but in the long run the silver dial might be the best. I could see myself getting tired of the green but not the silver. Good luck and keep us posted.

I have tried on that green dial. It was awesome. Looked stunning and day dates aren’t for me but wow that was an incredible watch
