I respect the engineering marvel of the reference but it kinda reminds me of a desk clock put on a bracelet.
Not for me but good luck getting one to those whom desire to wear it.

Not yet, but I hope to.
Not wishing to derail the thread but I di try on a Titanium Ultra Deep a few days ago and a SS version. The SS is nice and bright where as the Titanium is very matte and grey. The Titanium of the Challenge looks great in pics. Hopefully I'll get to see one |

I see 7.5, not 7.25 but still. Not a large wrist and it does not look too large. Surprising me.

that is indeed a MASSIVE watch! Sorry, but in other than true professional use (diving/maritime pursuits) it does kind of look "contrived" and maybe working too hard to stand out - personal view. But, to each their own.

I will get torched for this, but it seems comically large. Invicta-ish

To all the naysayers, I will say a Rolex is not a watch intended for every person, just as the Challenge is not a Rolex intended for every wrist.
My James Cameron almost gets lost on my wrist. I’ve been downright yearning for a Rolex that would solve this problem, and now that one exists, I’m stuck battling for an allocation with people that will buy this for a short-term profit or else buy it and lament on TRF that Rolex shouldn’t produce something that looks like a clock on their five-inch wrist. I'm fine with people buying and wearing whatever they are comfortable with. In terms of looks to me, the top end of the range is "it doesn't look as bad I as I would have thought." Knowing the technology behind it, I think it looks better than when someone with a five inch wrist posts a shot with their 44mm AP ROO.
It seems to me that the thickness of it is impossible to overcome, even for those with a giant wrist.

I can appreciate it for what it is … a technical achievement and innovative reference.
I wouldn’t be a buyer or wearer but that’s not to disparage anyone who chooses to own it or wear it |

From what i can see of it, it doesn't "work too hard" at anything other than establishing the minimum size required for a watch that's literally engineered to withstand the water pressure at the very bottom of the ocean in accordance with the international standard for a dive watch which is tested to 125% of its depth rating. In summary, it can't possibly be any smaller given the materials chosen so how can it be contrived other than its reason for existing? Depending on context a lot of or most divers watches could fall into the category If it was made of Tungsten then maybe it could be more compact? But it would be heavier The whole point of the watch is for it to be the very last word/knock out punch in the depth rating technology wars in a non-liquid filled format and still be wearable. By any measure, it succeeds in an admirable fashion. I put it to you that if it goes against your sensibilities then so be it and you have the option of not puting in an expression of interest on it |
