This is becoming bit of a joke ...

Celebration ... unobtainable (1 per store per year ... or whatever)
Le Mans Daytona ... unobtainable (1 per store per year ... or whatever)
YM Titanium ... unobtainable
New SS Daytonas ... unobtainable as usual
Day Date Puzzle Pieces ... unobtainable
Etc.
Etc.

At some point, I will simply lose interest.

I have a very hard time believing that.

3 in all of NA seems unlikely and even more unlikely that an AD knows the total allotment for an entire continent.

It's bog standard grade 5 titanium. Rolex just wants to keep it exclusive, or they're actually having manufacturing problems, in which case they have other things to worry about.

The Highland Park Village boutique staff isn't the most knowledgeable so I wouldn't hold much weight to their comments.

Right on!

IMO the day date puzzle and similar pieces should just be the fun available ones for people who'd want to add one watch to their collection

The fact that they have turned into highly desirable pieces just shows how much Rolex flipped the Swatch model upside down...

I've actually lost interest in the brand at this point.

There's no frigging way I'm going to kotau for an AD when the next Sub LV isn't going for much over retail and could show up on my doorstep tomorrow... Screw the games at this point

I put my name down for one of these when first announced, for me it's the perfect watch.
When I had a catch up with the AD a few months later he was actually hinting to perhaps take it off my list of three registrations. He had now got a better idea of what supply would be like and though he didn't offer a specific number he said extremely limited.
Because of that he was worried that I was wasting one of my registrations on a watch I would never see.

But as I'm an eternal optimist I've kept it on my list lol

It's too big imo. Should have made it 40.

Nope. I have the 42mm YM in white gold and it's a perfect size and its slim design means it wears smaller.... man size forearms and hands do help though

Yep starting to feel the same way about 911’s. At a certain point it’s a bit redundant to release watch no one can buy.

You make an interesting point that all of these new releases are way too limited to even get one or try for.

I prefer the new releases remain extremely limited as it helps pieces retain value. A glut of supply and the value tanks for those who have them.

Do ADs really know?

Isn't this all just demand being so high?

Whenever I find myself longing for a watch I know I can never get, I try to stop myself becoming too frustrated by telling myself that my frustration is essentially my saying, "I have the right to want this watch but no one else has. Demand should be lower!"

It's a bit like (though on the other end) the frustrated driver, stuck in traffic, ringing home to tell his wife, "Traffic's just AWFUL." Few drivers then add, "And I'm actively contributing to it."

I think this is a great looking piece, I would just have to try it on and see how the 42 vs 40 fits me.

Good thing is I will never have to make that decision since according the in the know crowd these will be fairy dust only to exist for the chosen ones.

No big deal another 14k in my column or another manufacturers for that matter.

I don't buy it. Was told by an AD that they don't even know which exhibition pieces will be received (may be true or BS)...

Can't imagine Roles is going to tell the AD "You will get exactly 1 per year so better start planning". I think they have a sense though that it's in the single digits vs hundreds

It's best described as the Pelagos of the Rolex catalog. They'll soon discontinue it entirely. Rolex lost their way on this one.
