I used to be a maglite user, but I switched to Surefire. Got this little puppy a year ago and the original C123s are still working in it!

I use a candle...cheap and cheerful.

If it's windy...a hurricane lamp jar.

If it's raining a bicycle light.

I aint got no needs for no expensive torch!!!!!

If you are driving to a fence to look into a large field and you will be in or alongside your vehicle buy a Q-Beam that plugs into your cigarette lighter or power port and has the coil cord that you can extend out your door when you step out of the vehicle. There are also rechargeable versions of the Q-Beam or some knock-off brands that have a computer-style UPS-type wet-cell battery inside of them. Even the rechargeable types of Q-Beam lights will "light up the night" at great distances and last a while in use at night.

Coyotes are very smart. I told a former co-worker in Lakeland that he needed to shoot the two that were coming into the far reaches of his pasture that borders the Green Swamp in Polk County. He blew it off. I told him there would be three times that the next year, and whaddaya know, the next year they came back in greater numbers and took many of his neighbor's young livestock. He still got lucky because they killed many of his neighbor's calves instead of his. After I moved away from Lakeland I didn't keep track of what he ever did about this.

I've recently sprung on the V26 leather holster for the flashlight, even though it now looks like Mace on my belt.

Greg it's a crenelated strike bezel...that should pretty much sum up it's use.

They are illegal to carry in the UK and will be confiscated by police officers should they be discovered on one's person.

Most metal bodied torches can be used as kubatons, they are solid and weighty enough so it renders a CSB rather pointless.

I studied various martial arts as a teen and with the right guidance and knowledge a mimi maglite can be used in self defence to render an assaliant disabled.

However to be on the right side of Liz and her laws, I'll stick to me candle!

In fairness if anybody had driven their car into the Thames, you could have dived in and broken their car window to save them (copyright flashlight manufacturer's bs excuses for scalloped bezels).

As far as I know, they would confiscate the torch. My brother once had his Maglite confiscated by a police officer whilst walking his dog and he had to go to the station the following morning to pick it up.

I guess here in the UK anything can be deemed as a weapon...you should try walking down the street with a cricket bat!!!!!!!!!!!
