Incoming and 32XX Experience

Added a 124060 to my collection over the weekend. It joins my Pepsi and a handful of other watches including Panerai, Omega, and Cartier. I’ve had a few other Rolex in the past including a DJII, DJ41, and 12 series bluesy.

I’ve had my Pepsi for 1 year now and I wear it on average 3-4 days per week. I’ve never had any accuracy problems with it despite having the 32xx movement.

The 124060 is a welcomed edition to the collection. I wanted something more durable and rugged than the Pepsi on jubilee. Something that I don’t mind showing wear and that I’m not trying to keep somewhat pristine. I was considering two options—Explorer II polar and the Submariner. Although I love the Explorer II polar (I’ve admired it since 2013 while it was still an under-appreciated reference), I needed something smaller for my wrist size so the 124060 was the obvious choice. I don’t mind the maxi case of the 11 series subs and the GMTs, but the slightly more tapered and slightly thinner case fit my small wrist marginally better. Loving the simplicity and symmetry of the dial and the glidelock clasp.

I stopped at a local AD this afternoon to have both the Pepsi and the Sub tested as I’ve heard horror stories about the 32xx movement. To my surprise, the Pepsi is running 0.8 seconds slow per day and the Sub is running 0.5 seconds fast per day. Pretty good in my opinion.

You had the timing tested while you waited? This is usually tested for several days in multiple positions to get a accurate delta.

My watches are all 32xx and it's they've been the most accurate I've ever owned. Millions of other Rolex owners agree.

Nice! I would like to think that the 32xx issues are behind us. I got my first GMT (Rootbeer) back on 2019 and in 2021 it started acting really wonky. Brought it in for service and about 4 months later I had it back with no mention of what the issue was. I bought a second GMT (Batman) in 2021 - prior to my Rootbeer movement issues - and have never had an issue. They both keep excellent time +/- 2spd.

Fingers are crossed those watches stay accurate. My 124060 ran slow right out of the AD. A cool -4 to start that went down to -15-16 within a couple months. It went for the attitude adjustment and had been decent since. My 126610LV on the other hand literally just took the nose dive over the past couple weeks. It was running at +1.5 but now we’ve hit -5 a day. That one is 11 months from the AD. Congrats on the pickup tho. My 124060 is my absolute favorite and no matter what I’ll have that thing forever

I think to get a general idea of how a watch is running, putting it on a timegrapher for a minute or so ina few positions is pretty standard. If I did that to a watch and found under 1 s/d, I'm not clear what I'd expect to learn (or do) by leaving it at a dealer. I have my own timegrapher and might test different positions or repeat a test if I'm regulating or having issues....but for a two day test wind it, set it, wear it, check it.

They work well together. I never had any issues w my previous Subdate41 & current BLRO. And I own a Timegrapher. I had the Sub for over 2 years but traded towards a 116610LV instead (I just love that dial). The BLRO is 1 year old now & is crazy accurate, both barely gained a second.

Congrats, great duo. I have three watches with this movement, two so far have been sent in for running between 7-11 seconds slow per day. I've only had the third watch for a few months now, so we'll see. It's frustrating, however wouldn't stop me from getting another.
