Physical Reputable Grey Dealer Locations

Hello,

Anyone know some reputable grey dealers with physical locations near the NYC/tri-state area? The ADs near me are not delivering and I want to walk into a physical grey dealer store and buy from there instead.

Thanks!

Might be a hike for you, but Jay Roberts in Marlton (Cherry Hill) usually has some pre-owned Rolexes. They're not a Rolex AD, but had plenty last time I was there.

Why local? Lots of good options you can wire and have 10am the next business day. I bet better prices too.

You could try Collectors 1946

My suggestion is pick what you like from their website, and then head to the store to check it out. Before buying make sure it has all links, not polished, etc.

What are you asking at the AD and history/experience?

Asking for the harder to get models - GMT Master II (Sprite and/ or Batman), a black Sub, and eventually a Daytona.

I had purchase history at 1 AD, about 15K, but the place got bought out by WoS and the history got wiped unfortunately. And the SA I worked with also quit. So now I have 0 history at that place, along with a few other places where I have also inquired. But 0 history there as well. Figured my chances are pretty slim at this point - already been waiting several years for these but not getting anywhere. The SAs just keep giving the runaround.

Yep, might as well just bite the grey markup bullet & buy there. I can understand the desire to buy in store, but online (especially through an escrow system) is pretty easy & secure.

47th St/Diamond District has lots of watch resellers. Know what you want and how much you want to spend before negotiating, move on to the next one if you can’t make a deal.

The Diamond District on 47th Street can be a fun outing.

Also, check out Tarrytown Jewelers in White Plains, they have a great website and are also brick and mortar.

Do they carry NEW also? I'm not looking for pre-owned.

The only place you can buy a brand-new Rolex is an authorised dealer. Any third-party selling Rolex is a reseller, so anything they have will be used, regardless of condition.

Is this true? On Chrono24 there are countless resellers who are advertising as "new" or "unworn." Is that not the case?

Yes. They may be 'unworn,' but as a second-hand piece there is no way for you to really know this is true. Unless the card is dated today and it hasn't been sized. The items third-party resellers are listing as 'new' are purchased from another person who has bought it from an AD. Or another reseller which is usually the case, if they don't have the piece you want currently in stock.

This is fine, as there are tens of thousands of Rolex produced every year and flipped directly into the used market. However, you'll need to be very clear about what you want and what you're actually purchasing before you pull the trigger.

The only place you can buy a new Rolex is an authorized dealer.

Haha, you are 100% correct! I’ve never actually bought anything there but I enjoy browsing and haggling is expected. I do believe they’re pretty legit, reputation in that business is everything.
